New Automatic Test Bench for Pumps

commitment = innovation = technology = solution = service = trust

Since April 2010, KSB ITUR hosts in his headquarters in Zarautz, the New Automatic Test Bench for Pumps that will provide up to 75 pumps inspected daily provided with complete protocols (Q, H, Pabs, efficiency and NPSH). KSB Group Test specialists from Germany, Brazil and KSB ITUR itself have worked together in the design, development and

construction of this Automatic Unit. This combination of knowhow, makes this unit one of the most complete and modern Test Bench facilities in the world. The main purpose is to energize and streamline the pump assembly and allow pump inspections from routine test operations to special and long-term tests.

Our Know-How
Technology
Data acquisition system, signal processing, calibration, test parameter calculation and fully automatic valve system.

Engineering
KSB self developed software for management and calculation of tests, as well as its graphic and written documentation, allows the standardization of test procedures to customer requirements

Next-generation facility developed by KSB provided with process management modules by interconnection of several test beds and even with external networks. This will enable work in sync and in real time with new test benches in Frankenthal and Halle (Germany). In the near future, other KSB Group production centers will join this system of interconnected test benches. This will also set up a Global Test Complex in which the production centers will share information, processes and data, improving significantly the service to customers wherever they are.
FEATURES: Area: 1.000 m2 No. of test beds: 9 Installed power: 1.600 KVA Control booth equipped with multiple computer system can control up to 5 pumps with variable speed simultaneously on all of them. Speed: variable by frequency converter Q per pump: up to 4.500 m3 / h H per pump: up 400 m (40 bar) Max DN: DN 600 Minimum NPSH 0,3 m Maximum NPSH 49 m Inspection with full protocol: up to 75 pumps / day

With this new unit KSB ITUR test facilities are configured in a way that most of plant pump operation conditions can be simulated.

CLOSED CIRCUIT TEST BENCH

This closed circuit design applies to six of the nine beds to test "End Suction" and "In-Line" pumps. All beds are connected to an independent cooling system through a heat exchanger. This ensures that tests can be developed at a temperature below the maximum stated by the norms. The bench allows NPSH measurement in each flow point by means of depressurization inside the tank (up to 50 mbar of absolute pressure) or pressurizing it (up to 5 bar absolute). The new test bench allows testing pump units up to 710 kW including variable speed by frequency converter.

technology = solution
The open circuit test bench contains two test beds, which are designed to test high flow horizontal and vertical centrifugal pumps as well as submersible, reciprocating or eccentric rotor pumps. The bench is provided with two complemented tanks of 180 m3 capacity. These tanks are properly connected to the cooling systems and have two open connections to standard pumps.

OIL TEST STAND

This test bench can test gear or screw pumps with clean and viscous fluids.

Besides the new test bench including 9 test beds, following exiting test benches are available:

Soundproof booth equipped test bench and protected against gas emissions, emulates the most rigorous and demanding standards of safety and operation that may take place in firefighting equipment.
