Data Visualisation

 Top row must contain headers

 Second row begin transactions
 Each column represents a variable or specific data type.
 Three types
Text fields
Date fields (Day element, Month element, year element)
Numbers (No correction of mix of alphanumeric( not even single cell contain )
 Remove unclear data
 Each row should have unique meaning (manner)
 Each data should contain

Dimensions(

Row id is not aggregable

Measures(aggregable)

Tables – accurate values, for precision of values

Chart – for visualisations, patterns , trends

Line chart-

 When more no. of dates and sales

 Seasonality, Periodical pattern
 Dates have natural hierarchy( quarters, Month, day)

For one measure we can use histograms, bar charts

Data Visualisation

As many rows ,you get as many scatter points

Analyse-> aggregate Un check-> trend line-> you get the impact of one variable on other(Regression
and correlation)

Session 2

Bar chart one measure one dimension

Scatter chart two measure

1 measure – box plots

Lesser no. of colors is best to reduce clutter

If we have many variables create the hierarchy variables by add hierarchy option.

Location hierarchy->country/region->region ->state->city->postal code

Items hierarchy ->Category->sub category->product name

Line chart – trends

Bar chart – comparisons
