Lecturers and researchers, who are the primary source of knowledge, as well as their
backgrounds and education, can have an impact on the quantity and caliber of publications. Along with
academic qualifications and experience, personal characteristics like age, gender, and teamwork abilities
can influence how well academics succeed in publication exercises. Therefore, professors and
researchers with outstanding knowledge and sufficient experience can work toward producing high
quality publication.
The aim of most universities has traditionally been on publication and citation (Ebrahim et al.,
2013). Reasonable rate and sustained improvement in scholarly publishing and citation can be
considered as success. This is a way to improve a university's standing, win the battle for excellence,
become a top-tier institution, boost enrollment, and build its potential for reputation and branding.
Therefore, in order to increase our publications, citations, and university ranking in the Philippines, we
must then appoint more competent and outstanding lecturers who serve as the primary source of
knowledge, work collaboratively with other universities to share knowledge, publish in high-impact
international journals, and engage with a diverse audience.
