SURVEILLANCE AND DATA RETENTION

surveillance is defined as the close monitoring of the actions of a specific

individual. The surveillance technology systems are devices that identify monitors
and track the movements and data. Although this sounds like an invasion of
personal privacy and loss of personal liberty It is important to understand that
once digital traces are created and transmitted, they are out of our immediate
control and generally end up in the hands of others, stored on servers that don’t
easily forget. But not all digital traces are equal. The amount of control we have
over a digital trace depends on how the trace was created and where it is stored.
And as a future teacher I learned how important to handle the issue under the
surveillance and data retention. Since the internet and the technology has the
capacity to store and gather data, we humans sometimes tends to forget what are
the sources, links, and websites we have been used that’s why surveillance and
data retention is a need to practice.
