V. RATIONALE

Sharing is an act of kindness that builds connection between the giver and receiver.
This pandemic has really affected families all over the world and that includes SRIS
community especially the less fortunate ones. This is the main reason why teachers from
TLE Department opted to help and be a generous giver to our learners by donating cash
and food items to set up a community pantry. The school community pantry will cater
students from grade 9 and 10 identified as “UNDERNOURISHED”. The program will
also give temporary aid and support to the underprivileged children from the same grade
level even for a single meal.
This program will benefit the recipients by offering them nutritious food items they
will cook at home to share with their families. The food items will also serve as one full
meal for the families of underprivileged children. In return, the recipients will bring seeds
for the Gulayan sa Paaralan Program (GPP) for the continuation of vegetable planting to
continuously support this kind of project in the future.

VI. OBJECTIVES:
1. To contribute to the improvement of nutritional status of “UNDERNOURISHED”
learners,
2. To share nutritious food items to underprivileged families, and
3. To instill to the learners the value of eating nutritious food and the significance of
sharing to the school community.

VII. TARGET PARTICIPANTS/BENEFICIARIES: 6 TLE Teachers and 30 Learner-

Beneficiaries, 1 School head
