1.0 TITLE

Method of Statement for the Rectification of Precast Concrete Color & Appearance Sigma Paint
(Sigmafix Primer and Sigmacryl Pure Flat)

2.0 METHODOLOGY

2.1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This Method Statement outlines the procedure for rectification precast to achieve color uniformity
and generally pleasing appearance. This method statement covers the execution of works, materials and
method of acceptance for (1) achieving panel color uniformity.

2.2 EQUIPMENT

List of Equipment:

1. Compressor with Sprayer

2. Measuring drum
3. Mixing paddle

2.3 MATERIALS

2.3.1 Special proposed paint by Sigma based on approved mix design and color for
Uniformity on architectural texture or appearance of concrete:

1) Sigmfix Primer
2) Sigmacryl Pure Flat

2.4 MATERIALS HANDLING

Materials should be delivered at site according to manufacturer requirements,

stocked in a protected area from sunlight, sources of potential contamination and moisture.

All materials in packages must be retained in its package during stocking and use,
labels intact and placed on stable, flat surface.

2.5 SURFACE PREPARATION

Prior to the application of the repair materials surface shall be prepared in accordance
with the following:

1. Clean the surface area to be repair must be sound and thoroughly cleaned.
2. Dust must be removed using air blower or air compressor and later wash the surface with
water.
3. Apply the primer Sigmafix Primer on the surface by horizontal and vertical position and 3
hours interval to dry the applied primer.

 2.6 WORK METHODOLOGY

1) Prepare Sigmafix primer on the sprayer machine and apply on the surface by
horizontal and vertical position and 6 hours interval to dry the applied primer.

2) Check the surface if it dried properly otherwise allow 1 or 2 more hours to dried the
surface.

3) Preparation/mixing of paint as per the approved color which is approved by the client.

4) Mixing of paint should be properly mixed prior to put sprayer.

5) The application of first coat paint. Application of paint must be in vertical and horizontal
using sprayer and let dry for at least 4 hours prior to apply the second coat.

6) The second coat application of paint. Application paint must be in vertical and horizontal
position using sprayer.

7) The final appearance will be inspected after 8 hours from the second coat or 24 hours.

3.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE

3.1 CONTRACTUAL REQUIREMENTS

Advacon Engineer or his representative should be notified prior for preparation and
application of paint. He shall also inspect the rectified surfaces for acceptability.

QC Engineer or his representative must be present during initial stage of rectification

works.

3.2 RECORDS

Records shall be kept in Erection Department and copies distributed to Royal Commission
representative and Main Contractor duly noted by ADVACON QC Engineer or his
representative.

Erection Department copy is kept for minimum of two (2) years.

4.0 HEALTH & SAFETY

1. PROTECTIVE & SAFETY EQUIPMENT

The following are the list of Personal Protective Equipment to be used by personnel
conducting this activity:

1. Safety Shoes
2. Cotton Gloves
3. Standard Coveralls
4. Protective Eye Glasses
5. Face Mask

2. ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY & HEALTH CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS

Always wear (PPE) Proper Personal Protective Equipment and abide by HSE Rules &
Regulations as per Royal Commission Standard

3. MSDS (MANUFACTURER SAFETY DATA SHEET)

3) Since the repair raw material is coming from Plant and mixed at site, the
supervisor for this activity is instructed to read and refer to the attached Material Safety
Technical Data for Sigmafix primer and sigmacryl pure flat.

Wear proper PPE. In case of contact with skin, rinse with plenty of water, then clean with
soap and water. In case contact with eye, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and
seek medical advice. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately. Do not induce
vomiting.

4. CONTRACTUAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Personal Protective Equipment shall be considered only as last resort of defense

against potential risk and hazards.
2. Contractor shall ensure that adequate stock of Personal Protective Equipment is
readily available on site and issued to personnel. PPE shall be considered as
consumable item.
3. All PPE utilized shall be manufactured to a recognized international acceptable
standard.

5. RISK ASSESSMENT

The following are the risks that may occur for this activity:

1. Injury to workers
2. Accident from falling objects
3. Skin Irritation
4. Health hazard
