EVIDENCE: THE NEW 7 WONDERS OF THE

WORLD

The seven new wonders of the Modern World earned their

place. These seven monuments from around the world were
chosen by more than 90 million people in 2007, when the
private company New Open World Corporation organized a
worldwide contest for the inhabitants of the Earth to choose
their seven new wonders.

The result was tight, and 21 cities and architectural works

from all continents built up to the year 2000 reached the final
phase. These included modern constructions such as the
Sydney Opera House (Australia), the Statue of Liberty, the
most recognized icon in the United States, the Eiffel Tower in
France, the Acropolis in Athens and the Alhambra in Granada.
However, none of them managed to sneak into the winning
septet, which was finally this:
These are the new 7 wonders of the world:

- The city of Petra, in Jordan

- The Taj Mahal in India
- The Machu Picchu in Peru
- The pyramid of Chichen Itza on the Yucatan Peninsula in
Mexico
- The Colosseum in Rome
- The Great Wall of China
- The statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil
The wonder I chose is the Great Wall of China,
here is a brief explanation of it:
The chinese wall

Built between the 5th century B.C. and the 16th century, the Great
Wall of China is a stone and earth fortification created to protect the
borders of the Chinese Empire from the Mongol invasion. The Great
Wall is actually a succession of multiple walls spanning
approximately 4,000 miles, making it the longest man-made
structure in the world.

Current state of the wall: More than 30% of the Great Wall has
disappeared. Due to natural erosion and human damage, some 2,000
kilometers, or 30% of the Ming Great Wall has disappeared. (Much
more of the Great Wall sections of previous dynasties are gone.)
