FADE IN:

SCENE ONE

INT. DORA'S BEDROOM - NIGHT

This room is neat. The perfume bottles on the dresser are in

alphabetical order; the clothes in the closet are arranged
from lightest to darkest with every hanger turned in the
same direction.

A hand writes neatly on a yellow notepad, While sitting on a

chair writing on a table in the room.

The Writers Name is Dora James, A Single Mom (32). Her

piercing eyes and sharp smile are endearing, but her self-
confidence and boldness can be very intimidating, she is
chubby, yet athletic in nature.

Dennis (9), enters the room holding a book. He hops on the

bed -- dusts his feet off before they touch her sheets. He's
mature, wise and a young romantic boy. He can hold a
conversation with almost anyone, sounding older than his age
most times.

DENNIS
Hello, mom. What might thou be
doing still writing till now?

Kyle stands up from the bed to read what her mom was
writing. Dora politely moves it out of his view.

DORA
Nosy. It's none of your business.

DENNIS
I figured that's exactly what you
will say Mom.

DORA
What's with the follow up these
days?

KYLE
(holds up book)
I'm reading how to protect and care
for your single Mom...

Dennis goes back to lay on the bed, grabs the remote, and
turns on the television.

DORA
(Shooting a surprising
look at Him in awe)
And what do you think you're doing?

DENNIS
Unwinding. School was long today.
And I missed Gisting with my mom'

She shoots him a look again. Dennis laughs.

DENNIS(CONT'D)
But mom, sons are meant to miss
their mom, especially Nine years
Old's like me...

DORA
No but! Some expressions are bigger
than a Nine Year Old to express.

DENNIS
Yes, Mother, I know.! Just saying I
miss my mom sometimes out there

DORA
Mom's Little boy!! Now don't get
too comfortable in my bed.

DENNIS
Mom...

DORA
Son...

Dennis looks at her mom with some kind of a displeasing eye.

DORA
And Listen! You're too old to be
still sleeping on the same bed with
me, You have your own room, young
man.

DENNIS
I know mom! I feel sad seeing you
lonely.
