INTRODUCTION
In this case study, you will perform the following tasks:
• Assign a cockpit template
• Modify an existing cockpit
• Use the Enterprise Search
• Create sales documents
• Drag & Relate

PREREQUISITE:
1. Use the demo database for SAP Business One 10.0, version for SAP HANA or SAP Business One 10.0
2. Credentials: User code: manager; Initial Password: manager
3. You might need to define a new posting period to match the entered posting dates.
Go to Administration – System Initialization – Posting Periods – choose the New Period option.

TASK 1
Bill, a new sales manager, starts his first day at OEC Computers. After logging into the system, he wants to
start to work in the system. Since he will be working in sales, he needs a sales-oriented cockpit.
How can he assign a sales cockpit template to himself?

TASK 2
Bill is responsible for a number of customers (C20000, C50000, and C60000). He now wants to ensure that
he is assigned as the Sales Manager in the business partner master data.
How can he assign himself as the Sales Manager responsible for these customers?

TASK 3
Bill is going to be using the Activities frequently to set up meetings or follow-up tasks. Since he is using the
system for the first time, however, he doesn’t know where to find them.
How can Bill find these functions easily?

Since he will be making frequent use of the Activities, Bill wants to be able to access them quickly through a
widget in his cockpit.
How can Bill add the Activity function to a widget in his cockpit?

TASK 4
A few days later, Bill has a call with customer C20000, who requests an offer for the following items:
A00002 with a quantity of 10
A00005 with a quantity of 5
C00008 with a quantity of 15

Since customer C20000 is one of his top customers, Bill wants to offer a 5% discount. He also wants to use
the functions available in the system to create a well-structured document.
Create the offer.

TASK 5
Later, customer C20000 calls Bill and wants to order the offered items. Bill needs to find the sales quotation
quickly to create the sales order.
Bill uses the Enterprise Search to find the sales quotation based on two search terms:
Customer Number and Posting Date.
Use the Enterprise Search to open the sales quotation and create the sales order.

TASK 6
Bill has a call with customer C20000 about a new sales order. During the call, he wants to obtain information
on the customer’s other open sales orders, as well.

How can Bill get this information (different options are possible)?
