1.0 OBJECTIVE

This method statement is to describe the method of which the repair pump is carried out for this
project.

2.0 SCOPES

This procedure applies to workshop, which requires to repair pump, which is carried out by the
company.

3.0 INSPECTION

On receipt of pump at workshop necessary precautions shall be taken for unloading,

disassembly, as follows:

1. Upon arrival at site, the pumps shall be off-loaded carefully at workshop.

2. The pumps shall be disassembly for inspection and checking the damaged from
information site.
3. Any discrepancy or damages etc., will be notified and reported for further action.
4. Inspection report submit to customer.

4.0 ROTOR SHAFT

The results of the inspection, it was found to runout the dimensions shaft out of tolerance made
a bend position shaft, and for the repair process as follows:

1. Measurement and run out.

2. NDT PT for checking any defect or damage.
3. Thermal arc sprat in area out of tolerance with specification S316 as material data from
data parts factory.
4. Machining on the completed arc spray area to restore dimensional straightness and run
out.
5. Grinding surface to accuracy shape and dimension.
6. NDT PT to ensure no cracking after thermal arc spray, machining & grinding.
7. Runout to ensure that the runout does not exceed 0.02 mm.

5.0 IMPELLER

1. Machining inside area in knocking step casing in Impeller position to liberate impeller
from sticky/galling to pull out the impeller.
2. NDT PT knocking step casing to check any defect or damage.
3. Stitched impeller from separate parts using GTAW welding S316.
4. Machining in outside area.
5. NDT PT after machining.

6.0 INDUCER

1. NDT PT to checking any defect or damage.

2. PMI thread shaft to obtain the classification of material.
3. Measurement the thread standard.
4. Fabrication thread shaft.
5. NDT PT thread shaft.
6. Ensure that the thread shaft mounted on the side of the inducer and rotor shaft.

7.0 STATOR LINER

NDT PT to slide scratch inside liner it shall be ensure no leakage and the motor stator not
exposure contents from outside.

8.0 DYNAMIC BALANCING

Upon rotor shaft, impeller and inducer has been completed in the process to be assembly for
dynamic balancing process with ISO G 2.5 standard.

9.0 ASSEMBLY

1. Prior to start of pump assembly ensure that all parts are ready and confirmed the repair
process completed.
2. Ensure that the consumable parts Bearing PN B012, Floating Ring PN R10, Shaft
Sleeve PN S30, Thrust Washer PN W05, Tongued Washer PN W071 & W072, Gasket
PN 311, Gasket PN 312, and Gasket PN 314 on stock before the starting of assembly.

10.0 MOTOR STATOR

Checking insulation motor from terminal box with megger test 500V, Ensure that the motor no
indication short, three phase of balance U-V-W. Checked with the history last of insulation
tested.

11.0 PRE-RUN TEST

1. Prior to start of run test it shall be ensured that the respective area are approved.
2. It shall be ensured that the pumps are as per repair and have been inspected &
approved.
3. After inspecting the work area / plinth and ensuring that it is totally ready for run test, the
required pumps shall be moved to the place of run test.
4. Proper marking shall be done on the plinth for drilling & fixing the required fasteners to
fix the pumps in position.
5. The pumps shall then be placed on the plinth & shall be fitted in position directly on the
plinth.
6. It shall be ensured that the fasters are tight enough to hold the pump in position during
run test.

the inlet & outlet of the pump.
8. Ensure that the pump installation is complete and mechanical completion is approved.
9. Ensure that the pumps are identified location wise and service wise.
10. Ensure that the system is cleaned internally & externally.
11. Check that the piping network is complete with proper valves, drains, vents, etc.
12. Ensure that electrical power connections with control panel, bearing monitor & earthing
is proper.
13. Ensure that all the relevant valves are in open position.
14. Check identification and labeling for equipment.

12.0 RUN TEST

1. Ensure that all the pre-run out checks are carried out successfully.
2. Open the suction valve.
3. Start the pump and record the discharge pressure.
4. Check pumps for overheating.
5. Check for any undue vibration/noise.
6. Check current, voltage & rpm of the motor & record the values.
