ROBERT WOODS’S VASE CASE

COURT: COURIER = CASE#: 13754 FINAL

As first-class detective, Robert Woods walked up

the stairs leading to the FBI Visitors Center, he was

hoping to eat at “Daves,” the famous restaurant in all

of town. When he entered the building, he saw an

extraordinary group of Dansville police officers. He

got his mind off them by thinking that they were

probably just another new group exploring the center.

He walked down the antique medieval carpet to his old

office. When he was a few feet away from the door, he

found a post-it taped to his door.

He became curious and read the note which read,” Hi

detective Woods, I couldn’t meet you, but I wish to meet you now, please come

at the location that I emailed. Need to talk. Thanks, Joe Fizer, Dansville Police

Department (DPD).”

After reading, Detective Woods checked his e-mail

and sure enough, there was a message that told him to

meet in the hall. He suddenly realized that the police

officers were no new transfers, they were waiting in

the hall for him. He then turned around and he walked

toward the group of officers. Before he could ask which

one of them was Joe Fizer, a man with messed up black

hair wearing a suit rushed down the hall and gasped,”

Are you Rob......ert....Woods?” He then breathed out

and added, “Nice to meet you I'm Joe Fizer from the

DPD. you might have heard of me from the post-it and I

was here to talk about the smuggling incident that you

apprehended yesterday, buuut I just got news that the

$1,000,000-antique vase from 1789 was just stolen at

the museum and everyone wants you to investigate, soo,

could you?

Robert sighed, ”Sure thing, tell me the juice.”

Joe scrunched his face and questioned, ”juice?”

Robert answered with a disappointed look on his

face,” you don’t understand idioms? I was trying to say

the facts.”

Joe replied back, ”Oh, sorry. Back to the case, the

security team found three people in the area at the

time the vase was stolen precisley 2:39 P.M. whose

names were Jhon Zoler, Lincon Bishop, and Brane Tuggin.

Suspiciously Lincon Bishop is about to board a plane at

the airport.”

Joe stood there staring blankly and Robert

exclaimed,” What are you standing there for, go stop

him from boarding!”

Joe had been surprised at the detective’s sudden

demand and replied with sorrow,” Oh, I'm sorry again.

You can take my Mercedes out on a drive to investigate

and I'll go hold him off from boarding.” Joe tossed the

keys to Robert and walked out. Robert left and entered

the Mercedes. He started the car up and drove to John

Zoler’s residence. On the way he saw a sign at Dave’s

that read “we’re sorry that Dave’s is closed for the

day, come back later!” and sighed.

Robert walked up to the house and knocked on the

wooden, red door. Suddenly, the door opened and Robert

stepped in. sorry and stepped back. A young man in his

late 20’s who needed to shave asked Robert who he was

and why he was there.

Robert assured him and told,” Please sit-down Mr.

Zoler. I am Robert Woods, detective and I’m here to ask

about what you were doing today between 2:00 and 3:00

P.M?” John didn’t sit and explained that he had gone to

the gym that day. He noted that there was a sweaty gym

sweatshirt lying on the couch. Robert then told John

that he was sorry to interrupt and Robert left, heading

to the next suspects house, Brane’s residence. When he

reached the old Victorian house, he rang the bell. At

the very moment, he heard a thud inside. At the next

second, a man with an annoyed face and wearing formal

clothes stepped outside the doorway.

Robert then told the man the same thing he told

John,” Hello Mr. Tuggin, I am Robert Woods, detective

and I’m here to ask about what you were doing today

between 2:00 and 3:00 P.M?”

Brane had a disgusted face and then replied,” I was

eating at Dave’s.” Robert thought Lincon had to be the

thief. After all, he was boarding a plane so soon. He

then rushed out towards the car and drove to the

airport. When he passed through the security

checkpoint, he saw Joe Fizer standing with another

officer near a blond-haired man with a suit and a

business tag sticking out of his pants. The detective

rushed over to the threesome.

Joe reacted by hissing,” Where have you been!”

Robert calmly assured him and smirked,”

Investigating, where else?”

Joe calmed down a bit while Robert interogated

Lincon,” Where were you at 2:00 to 3:00 today and why

are you at an airport?”

Lincon stammered,” Uh… I was here waiting to board

a plane to Chicago for a business affair. so… if you

would...?” Robert felt embarrassed and then told him

that he could go. Then Robert thought about the dead-

end and after a minute, he stared blankly and was open-

mouthed. He turned to Joe in concern and told,” I know

who did it!.”
