ACTIVITY 2
1. How do Indians consider and worship the Trimurti?
Trimurti refers to Brahman's three forms and functions (creation, preservation, and destruction). These
functions are represented by the gods Brahma (creator), Vishnu (preserver), and Shiva (destroyer)
(destroyer). The swan or goose, which represents wisdom and has four heads and eight hands, is Brahma's
chariot. Brahma received the least attention because his role has already been fulfilled. In India, there are
just two (2) temples dedicated to Brahma. Vishnu is worshipped as the god of love, kindness, and
forgiveness. He is four-handed and has a dark complexion. His principal focus as a preserver is mankind.
Shiva, the deity of death, destruction, and sickness, is the opposite. He is revered as the deity of human,
animal, and vegetable reproduction. Among the Trimurti, he is the most dreaded.
2. For you, what is the most significant belief/teaching/practice of Hinduism? Why?
Puja, meditation, quiet prayers, yoga, recitation of scriptures from the Bhagavad Gita or bhajans, reading
religious publications, participating in Satsang (prayer meetings), conducting charity work, visiting a
temple, and chanting the name of their beloved God are I think the most important practices in Hinduism.
3. Compare and contrast between Hinduism and Christians belief about the soul.

APPLICATION
1. How are women treated in Hinduism?
Woman should be valued in Hindu culture, according to Manusmriti, or the "Laws of Manu." In
practically every element of life, however, women have always been deemed inferior to males. A
woman's existence revolves on the males in her life, and she is cared for by her father as a kid, her
husband as an adult, and her sons as she grows older. Women are required to conduct home tasks and
remain faithful even after their husbands die. Many people in modern Hindu societies believe that men
and women are equally valuable. As a result, a Hindu woman may choose to pursue a job and be the
household's primary income earner. Importantly, Hinduism has always held mothers in high regard and
regarded them as valuable individuals.
