SerialProtocolConverterll (SPC2)Setup- SinglePort

Introduction
This TechnicalNote describesthe requiredstepsto install and configure a Serial Protocol ConverterII (SPC2)for a
single port.

Setup and Gonfiguration

l. InstallEGM firmware(A4.1.1or higher)and setthe Comms Protocol to Gamma.
a. When using,4'4.l.l or A4.2 firmware;
i. Setthe Machine ID in the GameMachine Options menu to I plus a 5-digit housenumber,i.e.
132572or 102468(insertzerosfor a total ofsix digits).
b. When using A4.2.1or newer firmware;
i. Setthe SPCID Number in the SPC Configurationmenu to 1.
2. Install the proper version of GamSAS2firmware into SPC2socketU3.
a. Connectthe EGM to the SPC2usingcableUSl003.
EGM backplaneP19 @DACOM) and P23 (COM2/COM4A4IKOHN)
SPC2connectorsH2 (EGM Comms) and H8 (power).
3. Initialize the SPC2non-volatile SRAM.
a. Insert a jumper linking J2-ll withJ2-13.
b. Apply power and wait until the LED flickers rapidly.
c. Removepower.
d. Removejumper.
e. Apply power.

LED Flash Codes

Flicker (10 pps) Memory hasbeencleared.
Flash (5 pps) Normal operation
I - pause No commson H2 (EGM).
2 - pause No commson H3 (AUX (Lottery, EZ-Pay, etc.)).
3 - pause No commson H4 (system).
4 - pause NOV-SRAM enor.
5 - pause Invalid EGM SAS-polladdress.
