Before the digital era, people used to write letters to be sent to post offices,
or even use the telephone or phones, but not everyone were privileged to enjoy
these methods for communication. Important news can not be delivered on time for
the lack of means for communication, details are not stated completely because to
send longer messages before means higher rate to pay. In short, communication
for people before is very poor. Now, as the technology evolved, social media has
been one of the most popular and fastest way of communication, giving equal
opportunities to everyone as social media can be accessed almost everywhere, as
long as its digital. While many argues the negative effects of social media to
children and young adults for numerous reasons such as the sudden change in
attitude, beliefs and negative effects on brain, we can’t set aside the fact that social
media has helped us not just in communication but also in the different aspects of
our daily lives. Social media improved human communication by means of greater
immediacy.

For the greater immediacy. The social media is one of the most common
ways of means for communication across the globe. According to thenextweb.com,
the number of social media users around the globe at the start of 2019 was roughly
58 percent of the total “eligible population”, but this figure rises to more than 70
percent in 100 countries around the world. With the total of 2.3 billion users,
Facebook is the most popular social media platform today. This rise in social media
users in a span of one year, and with Facebook being the number one social media
platform used, we can easily tell that more and more now rely on social media as it
helped in connecting people with great distance from one another. And it does not
end there because through this, people who have lost contact with one another are
re-connected to each other, but this time it’s a lot easier and faster. With one click,
people can now talk with one another, and it’s not limited to one but a number of
people now can talk at once with the help of the social media. But social media
does not end its prowess in communication but also, in the daily errands of people.
A great example of situations is submitting files online. It can be processed even if
you’re at home, and take note-- it’s faster than going to the actual office. And
unexpected errors can be easily corrected with the aid of social media, for people
can call anytime and anywhere, without worrying when your message will arrive to
its destination. Because of this evolution and improvement in communication,
people will have a lot of help in terms of doing loads of works at a time. People
from across the globe who uses social media as their partner in business and work
will be more productive compared before the rise of technology.

Social media has truly changed the ways of means of living for people. So
much has improved from before. And it’s effects are visible, and we can’t deny that
social media has helped us with our daily lives, as mentioned from above. Before,
communication is a privilege in which not everyone is able to enjoy. News and
messages from a far are not easily received because of the poor technology. People
are denied of the right to send “lengthy” messages because of its expensive rate.
But now, because of the huge improvement and continuous evolution of
technology, communicating, which used to be so rare for others are now enjoyed
not just by the rich, but by everyone.
