EMPIRE STATE

Empire State is located in Mindtown Manhattan, New

York city. it was designed by Lamb, Shreve and Harmon,
they called the building Empire State, because that´s the
nickname of the state of New York. the building was built
from 1930 to 1931.
This building is famous because it´s an important symbol
of New York. It´s a popular attraction too because of the
art deco architecture, height and observation decks. This
building is an American important cultural icon, and it has
been featured in more than 250 T.V shows and movies.

Empire State Building has been named as one of the

Seven Wonders of the Modern World by the
American Society of Engineers. The building has a
height of 443 meters, was the first building to have
more than one hundred floors, has 6500 windows
and 73 elevators. For its construction it was
necessary to demolish the Waldorf-Astoria hotel as
the foundation did not work for a building as heavy
as the Empire State Building.
I would like to visit the Empire State Building because it is a very
important building for architecture, the history around its construction
is very interesting and it is also a dream to visit this building, get to the
highest floor and see New York City.
For the design the architects had to innovate in new
technologies, that is why the architects decided to
use steel in construction, this material is lighter and
stronger than iron. The columns were designed to
withstand up to five thousand tons, the weight of
the building is supported by the columns, the walls
