Business Idea #2.

Souvenir Shop
1. Type of Business
 Souvenir shop is a store primarily selling souvenirs, memorabilia, and other items
relating to a particular topic or theme. The items sold often include coffee mugs,
stuffed animals, toys, t-shirts, postcards, handmade collections and other
souvenirs, intended to be kept by the buyer as a memento of their visit, or given
to another as a gift. Souvenir shops are normally found in areas visited by many
tourists.

2. Proposed Name of the Business

 The name of our proposed business is “Golinsan Souvenirs and Handicrafts”. It
is named “Golinsan Souvenirs and Handicrafts” because all the souvenirs are
locally produced. From woven bags, clothing, bracelets, jewelries, and others.
Supporting locally made products from the Philippines helps us remember our
culture and our identity as Filipinos. Furthermore, when you buy locally made
products, it would ensure that micro, small, and medium enterprises in the
Philippines are given a chance to survive and even proliferate.
 As observed a lot of people love to buy pasalubong when they visited
some tourist attractions in the Philippines. A souvenir will serve as a memento,
keepsake, or token of remembrance of the place or the memories the owner
associates with it. Another observation is that people love collecting different
souvenirs like refrigerator magnets, keychain, tees and more. That’s why we had
the idea that a souvenir shop will be a good and successful business. It will be a
unique way of promoting our local products and destinations by putting it into
different souvenir goods. Since, here in the province we have many beautiful
places to share to the local tourist or other visitors.

3. Location
 The location of our proposed business will be in Sagada, Mountain Province, it is
known for its scenic and calming mountain valleys, rice fields, limestone caves,
refreshing waterfalls, and cliffs that come with a sea of clouds. Add to that the
friendly Igorot locals, fresh servings of food, coffee, and lemon pies. It’s a
destination where you can find the peace and quiet you’ve been yearning for.
There are several places in the area which includes, The Mission Compound,
Kiltepan Rice Terraces, Echo Valley Cliffs, Sumaging (the Big Cave), Bokong
and Bomod-ok Waterfalls, Burial Cave, Mount Ampakaw, Underground River,
and Lake Danum/ Banao. Because of these amazing tourist destinations many
local or foreigners are visiting the place, it will be an advantage because we will
gain many customers and the shop is just along the road and easy to locate.

months to celebrate the harvest season. Rice is also celebrated through Begnas
Festival, a sacred thanksgiving tradition that happens three to four times a year.
Another festival is the panag-etag, a tradition that locals do to preserve their
ancient culture, encourage ecotourism, and improve the economy. It happens
annually from January 30 to February 2 where every visitor can participate and
