EMPLOYMENT REPORT
Classes of 2021 and 2022
A LETTER TO THE TEXAS McCOMBS COMMUNITY

Thanks to the support of our extensive employer and alumni network, our
world-class faculty, industry experts, and our talented career consultants,
we had a strong performance in our employment outcomes for 2021. At
graduation, 84% of our graduating Full-Time MBAs accepted an offer. Job
acceptances increased to 93% three months after graduation, which is a 7%
increase from 2020. These outcomes are indicative of the community, tools,
and resources our MBAs have in managing their career development.

This report details the key insights we have realized this year and outlines
the competitive advantage our Texas McCombs ecosystem provides to our
alumni and students year over year.

Our ongoing efforts to continue to strengthen our employer ecosystem

helped our graduating Texas McCombs MBAs pursue full-time career
opportunities at 116 companies, and 99% of the MBA class of 2022 secured
internships at 125 companies across the United States.

Creatively refining and expanding our curriculum and resources, our

career education & coaching team empowered our MBAs to take control of
designing their life and exploring diverse career paths. In the functions we
classify under marketing/sales specifically, students reported expanded
interest in many areas, including product management, product marketing,
sales, research/consumer insights, buying/merchandising, and brand
management, among others.

Texas’ economy continues to grow and remain diverse, spanning traditional

oil and gas to renewable energy, tech, healthcare, financial services, and
manufacturing. In last year’s recruitment cycle, our graduating Texas McCombs
MBAs leaned into this growth specifically within Austin’s tech sector. Job
acceptances in technology increased by 8% in the last five years, with an
increased number of tech companies (20+) hiring our MBAs nationally, from
Seattle to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Resiliency and momentum in 2021 allowed the Austin economy, MBA

students, and our community to bounce forward in a global pandemic. And as
we look forward to the future of work, we are ready. We are Texas McCombs.

Janet Huang, Senior Assistant Dean
