Instruction: Construct a table of inputs and outputs utilizing the information given below. (Item no.

1 is already given to serve as your guide).

1. Suppose a student wants to determine the relationship of paying tuition and miscellaneous fees given the following situations:
a. The price of one subject unit is P200.00 and the miscellaneous fee is P600.00
b. How many subject units must the student enroll with P1,800.00?
c. How much would the total payment cost of enrolling 12 subjects units?
d. How many subject units must the student enroll with P7,400.00?

Number of subject
Total payment Computations
units (x)
1 P800 f(x) = 200(1) +600
6 P1,800.00 1,800= 200(x) +600
12 P 3,000.00 f(x) = 200(12) +600
34 P7,400 P7,400 = 200(x) + 600

Rule: f(x) = 200(x) + 600

Solution: a. The price of one subject unit is P200.00 and the miscellaneous fee is P600.00 Solution: b. How many subject units can the student enroll with
P1,800.00?
Let x – be the subject unit
f(x) – the total payment f(x) = 200(x) + 600
P1,800 = 200(x) + 600
f(x) = 200(x) + 600 since 200 is already given as the price per 1, 800 – 600 = 200(x)
subject unit and 600 as the miscellaneous fee 1,200 = 200(x)
x = 6
This is the rule that Therefore, there are 6 subject unit a student can enroll
We are going to use with P1,800.00

Solution: c. How much would the total payment cost of enrolling Solution: b. How many subject units must the student enroll with
12 subjects units? P7,400.00?

f(x) = 200(x) + 600 f(x) = 200(x) + 600

f(x) = 200(12) + 600 P7,400 = 200(x) + 600
f(x) = 3,000.00 P7,400 – 600 = 200(x)
Therefore, the total payment of 12 subject unit is 3,000.00 P6,800 = 200(x)
x = 34
Therefore, there are 34 subject unit a student can enroll
with P7,400.00
2. Suppose that Jerry wants to determine the relationship of paying internet usage in the café and is given in the following situations:
a. The minimum cost of surfing the 1st 3 hours is P30.00

c. How much would the payment for using 8 hours of internet?
d. How many hours can Jerry surf the net if he has P90.00?
