I. PROJECT TITLE (General Description)

PROPOSED 300-BED TERTIARY HOSPITAL WITH MEDICAL SCIENCES SCHOOL COMPLEX on a site
having generally flat terrain.

II. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

To design a private (300-Bed) Tertiary Hospital with Medical Sciences School Complex that will provide
general and specialized medical services and facilities in various fields and medical disciplines in order to
meet specific patient's and medical science educational needs. Associated with it are the application of the
latest and ethical methods of medical practices and with the latest medical technology and the provision of
health promotive environment for patients maintaining social integrity and responsibility.

The center will have four academic units, the College of Medicine, Nursing, Physical Therapy and Dentistry.
As a teaching tertiary hospital, it aims also to create the best environment for students to master the principles
and theories of medicine and obtain sufficient knowledge and experience to launch into a successful practice.

The center design should be safe from disaster (flood-free), as every year, many hospitals and health facilities
in the country are damaged and destroyed by disasters to which the Philippines has a very high vulnerability.

III. DESIGN OBJECTIVES

✓ To design a Tertiary Hospital with Medical Sciences School Complex that will provide general
and specialized medical services and facilities in various fields and medical disciplines in
order to meet specific patient's needs.
✓ It aims also to create the best environment for students educational needs.
✓ The development shall have a med-rise clustered structures that promotes environmental
architecture or green architecture.
✓ The complex shall be designed with an aesthetic & landmark quality type of structure.
✓ The design of the complex should also give emphasis and attention to the needs of the
disabled and the elderly.
✓ The center design should be safe from disaster.
✓ The complex shall be equipped with a broad range of state-of-the-art safety and security
features, including an advanced Building Management System, for the protection of hospital
clients and staff. Biosafety features are also incorporated into specific patient areas within the
complex.
✓ The architectural and interior design of the hospital complex is contemporary yet welcoming
with its hotel-like interiors and warm ambiance.

✓ Be sure that all structures and spaces are given careful thought that will justify their provision
based on your analysis of site potentials and consideration and its potential users.

V. PROJECT SITE FEATURES

✓ The site may be hypothetical or actual site, but must be anchored in a real City/Municipality/
Neighborhood
