Test Rail

Test Rail

Test Rail is a test management tool. The tool can be installed on the server or you can use
the demo version - online. We will choose the latter option.

We will need:
- e-mail address that you can use for registration (it does not have to be your private
address - you can use temporary e-mails, e.g. https://temp-mail.org/en/) - the free
version of Test Raila is active for 14 days, after that time, you can create a new
temporary account (there is no limit in their number)
- Internet browser - any

Go to https://secure.gurock.com/customers/testrail/trial/ and fill out the form (providing


your details):
- Check the box "Test Rail Cloud"
- Web Address - this will be the address of your instance
Test Rail application (write down this address)
- other data may remain fictitious
- after correctly filling in the form, press
"Create Test Rail Trail" button
- check your mailbox provided
for registration

Confirm your registration by clicking the confirmation link in the email that was sent to you
by the Gurock Team - check spam!

After confirming your registration, your account


is created, this may take a while.

The first screen you will see after the application is properly launched is information about
the processing of personal data - enter your name, it may be fictitious.
Select all consents, click "Submit".

You are now on the main TestRail dashboard. In order to be able to use the tool for the next
14 days, we should change the password. This can be done in the "Administration" tab -
upper right corner.

Go to the Users & Roles tab, our goal is to change the user's password to be able to use the
application also after logging out - at this point, the default password
it is invisible to us.

Edit the currently logged in user “John Doe” by pressing the edit button.

Change the password and save the changes.

The password should be easy to remember.

If you like, at this point you can


Edit additional elements like:
● First name and last name of the user
● E-mail adress
● Application language
● Application skin
● Time zone
Confirm the changes with the "Save User" button.

The tool is ready to work, you can now log out and log back in to verify that the whole
process was successful.

Your account is active for 14 days, in case the demo version stops working, you can play the
whole process on another "temporary" email address.
