Module Interface Characteristics, Internal Wetting

The diagram below shows an example of the wiring necessary to connect the HDI-050-XX module to the plant
equipment where the wetting voltage is provided internally from the HDI Module (SW3-SW6 set to WET).
Connector A is configured for internal wetting supplied by an external supply, connector B in configured for
internal wetting supplied by the backplane voltage. The recommended termination board for this card is the TDI-
RACKTERM module (32 channels), refer to the TDI-RACKTERM module description for additional information.

When internal wetting is supplied by the backplane voltage, pins 9 & 28 must be shorted; this is accomplished at the
termination board by installing JP1. The wetting voltage enable circuit will then disconnect the voltage from the male DB37 on
the HDO-050 module when the termination connection cable is unplugged. This will prevent inadvertant contact with potentially
unsafe voltage levels on the DB37 pins. When not using the backplane voltage as wetting supply leave JP1 on termination
board out.
