Memories/Facts/Tidbits/Sources:
According to birth records micro-fiched by the Latter Day Saints, Francis (house 87) had two illegitimate sons named Antonius & Mathias Egger.

The Godparents of the following are:

Joannes & Maria Taufer for Maria (p. 19 LDS microfiche), Franiscia (p. 69 LDS) and Susana.
Elisabeth & Laurentius Koppi for Antonius (p. 105 LDS), Elisabeth, Laurentius, Michael and Antonius.

According to the marriage certificate of Mary Egger & Melchior Steiner, they were married by a Catholic Priest (Valentine Stimmler), in St. Paul on June 1, 1886.
The witnesses were Martin Gertner & Susana Egger. Both Mary & Susana's last name was spelled at Eger.

According to the 1908, citizenship papers for Michael Egger, he was born in Pommoggen, Hungary (Pamhagen, Austria), on September 29, 1877, was 5 feet, 7.5
inches, weighed 180 pounds, had brown hair and blue eyes. He left the Hamburg port on the vessel “Pretoria”. After New York check in, he came to Minnesota on
July 9, 1899. He lived at 1139 Marion Street, St. Paul, MN and signed the document as Meik Egger.
According to the 1910 Petition for Naturalization of Meik Egger, he lived at 1139 Marion, St. Paul and is a teamster. He was born in Pammaggen, Hungary
09/29/1877. He immigrated from Hamburg, Germany about 01/05/1899 and took the vessel Pretoria arriving in New York on 01/21/1899. He lived in Minnesota
since 07/09/1899. His wife is Mary Egger and their five children are listed. He renounces his alligience to Francis Joseph Apostolie, King of Hungary. Witnesses
were Michael Heller (grocery business, 1144 Marion St.) and Joseph M. Pottgerser (real estate business, 217 E. 8th St.). Signed 09/20/1910.
Note: According to Find A Grave, Michael Heller's parents were: Christine & Florian Heller. Joseph Heller is probably Michael Heller's son or brother as he's listed
in the 1909 St. Paul City Directory as clerking for Michael and living at 1144 Marion.

According to the marriage certificate of Michael Egger and Mary Kotzenmacher (have 1902), they were married by a Catholic Priest (A. Ogulin), in St. Paul on July
7, 1902. The witnesses were J. Jandel & Rosalia Coyegaw (sp?). Michael's last name was spelled, Eger and Father Anthony Ogulin was at St. Bernard's Catholic
Church.

On Roll 14B Marriage Book 39 (MHS fiche), Rosalie Egger married Michael King on 02/26/1906 and a witness was Frank Koeing.

Fort Snelling.

To do:
Double check birth dates as they might be baptismal
Did Rosalia & Anthony Egger really have two sons named Antonius? If so, the first Anthony must have died before 1879.
Did Anthony Egger have a sister or niece named Anna Egger who married Mathais Andert? Anna was probably born about 1850 because she had a son, Frank Andert
who was born in 1870. If so, then this family is related to Gertie Ungar.
Were Michael King's parents Michael King (1839 to 05/12/1932 (1932-23857)) and Hanora Lee (1841 to 1920)? Another Michael J. King lived from 1847 to 1920
and was a civil war veteran (Co. D, 2 Minn Cav.) They're all buried at Calvary in St. Paul, MN.
A Rose & Michael E. King are buried at Calvary Cemetery in Hankinson, North Dakota, but not the couple from this family. That Rose was Rosa Margaret Blenner
born in Sebula, Iowas on 01/22/1871.

Memories/Facts/Tidbits/Sources:
Bernice Hanggi (Leitner) said that Susanna Egger came to the US along and her sisters, Mary & Rose, were already here. I wonder if the rest of her family has passed
away in Pamhagen, Austria. Mary married Mr. Steiner & Rosalia married Mr. Michael Keinz which seems to really be Michael King. On Roll 14B Marriage Book
39, Rosalie Egger married Michael King on 02/26/1906 and a witness was Frank Koeing. Also, Ancestry.com has Ramsey County Marriages for this couple. An
Egger daughter of Michael married a Keinz which is probably what Bernice was thinking.

The Andert's marriage license (1888) has Stephen Andart & Susie Agar.
St. Agnes Catholic Church records has Susanna Egger's mom's maiden name as “Joutel”.
Pastmn.weebly.com (last updated 2022)

Stephan W. Andert's best man was Stefan Sailer. Sailer's immigration papers said he arrived in New York, NY in December 1883. Maybe the two Steves traveled
together.

According to the 12/09/1889 St. Paul Globe, Stefan Andert was on the advertised list of unclaimed letters at the St. Paul Post Office (this could be another Stephan
Andert).

According to the 08/24/1891 St. Paul Globe, Stefan Andert was on the advertised list of unclaimed letters at the St. Paul Post Office (this could be another Stephan
Andert).

According to the 1895 census, they lived at 489 Hatch Street. Stephen age 28 (farmer), Susana age 23, Frank age 5, Stephan age 4 & Edward age 1.

Stephan Andert's best man, Stephan Seiler (Sailer), arrived in New York, NY in December 1883. (Source: Stefan Sailer's final papers to become a U.S. Citizen.)
Perhaps the two Stephans traveled together.

Stefan (Stephan) Andert took out a life insurance policy with the Catholic Order of Foresters on 11/04/1896. He was 30 and his birth place was Abetlan (Apetlon),
Ungarn (Hungary). He was a laborer and his beneficiary was his wife, Susanna Andert. He died on July 18, 1943.

According to the birth certificate of Christine Eva Andert (1897), the medical doctor was Maggie Beck. There was a affidavit to amend the certificate of 06/18/1943.
They changed her birth date from May 29, 1897 to May 27, 1897. Her parents were Susanna Andert & Stafan Andert. The birthplace of mother is listed as German.

According to the birth certificate (1901) of Elizabeth Andert, her parents Steven & Susana were both born in Hungary. Her first name is not listed and the reporter is
J. Ohage, M.D.

Bernard M. Andert’s Godparents were Christina & Frank Tschida (source: St. Bernards and they have his birth date as January 11, 1899).
Elizabeth Susana Andert was baptized on June 16, 1901 and her Godparents were Christina & Frank Andert.
Nicholas James Andert was baptized on June 21, 1903 and his Godparents were Rosalia Egger & Nicholaus Sigaki.
Rose Marie Andert was baptized on January 22, 1905 and her Godparents were Rosalia Egger & Martin Tschida.

According to Rose Andert's birth certificated, she was born on 01/12/1905 by Midwife Paar. No ages were listed for her father, Stephen & mother, Susan. Susan was
born in Hungary.

Stephan Wenzel Andert died of heart problems at Ancker Hospital. He was buried at Calvary on July 20, 1943. The plot is on the East side up on the hill.
According to Stephan Andert's obituary, besides for his wife and children surviving him, he also had 32 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren surviving him. He
was a member of the St. Anthony Society & St. Martinus Court No. 550 C.O.F.
Stephan Andert's probate case was filed in Ramsey County on 10/18/1943 (#68950).

I believe that Susana's sister, Rosalia King, died between 1906 and July 12, 1937.

According to the death certificate of Elizabeth Andert (1909), she died of black diphtheria at the City and County Hospital and Dr. A.B. Ancker signed her death
certificate. (Note: The hospital was known as Ancker Hospital and then Ramsey Hospital and then Regions Hospital.) She was a school girl.
Pastmn.weebly.com (last updated 2022)

Lizzie Andert was buried at Calvary Cemetery, on August 24, 1909 (in section 4, block 5, grave 15). St. Bernard’s Catholic Church recorded her death date as August
24, 1909.

In 1910, Stephen M. Andert worked at a paper factory.

In 1910, Anthony Andert was a clerk in a Department store.

According to the death certificate of Catherine Andert (have), whe died at Bethesda Hospital of a exhausation, general peritonitis due to acute perforated appendicitis.
The informant was Stephan Andert & he's buried at Calvary Cemetery (section 52, row 35, grave 43). Her doctor is listed as Dr. V. Peterson, 885 Rice Street. She is
not on MHS’ death index unless her name was spelled wrong. The 07/16/1913 St. Paul paper lists her under Deaths – Andert, Catherine, Bethesda Hospital, 5 years.

I could not find the graves of Katy or Elizabeth Andert. They are not buried next to each other and do not have grave markers.

Elsie was baptized at St. Bernard's Catholic Church on 01/19/1918 which is three days before her marriage.

In 1918, Stephan was a witness in a immigration matter - According to Mathias Tschida's Petition for Naturalization, he immigrated from Havre, France on
12/23/1907, and arrived in New York on 01/06/1908 on the vessel SS La Gascogne. Mathias arrived in St. Paul on 01/08/1908. He declared his intention to become a
citizen on 12/07/1914. He was married and his wife is dead. His five children all live in St. Paul, MN. His witnesses were Stephen Andert, fuel dealer, 1234
Farrington Avenue, St. Paul & George A. Deutsch, printer, 76 West Geranium, St. Paul, MN.

Stephen M. Andert died of tuberculosis. I did not find a death notice. The 1922 City Directory has, Steven M. Andert employed as a book binder & living at 343 W.
Maryland Avenue. The 1923 City Directory states that he died at age 30 on June 29, 1922.

On or about November 7, 1938, Stephan & Susan had a 50th wedding anniversary party. I have the group picture at the North End Community Club (Rice Street).
Anthony W.G. Andert was in WWI and was the only solider in the bunch (according to Aunt Lorraine Eheim). He was an active member of the American Legion and
the past commander of North End Post 474 American Legion.

Fred Leitner's mom's maiden name is misspelled as Filipcheck on the MHS' death index.
Anthony Andert's death cert. is not on MHS' death index.

1940 (April 10th) St. Paul Census: Andert, Stephan (age 74) & Susan (age 71). Both born in Austria.

According to the death certificate of Steven Andert (1943), he lived in the St. Paul community for 61 years – so since 1882. He was a retired coal dealer and never in
the armed forces. He died from Broncho pneumonia and cerebral vascular accident. An autopsy was not done & the informant was his wife.
According to Stephan Andert's obituary, he had 32 grandchildren and 12 g-grandchildren. He was a member of St. Anthony Society. Vigil St. Martinus Court No.
550, C. O. F. (Catholic Order of Foresters policy holders). Mass at St. Bernard's Catholic Church.

Susanna Andert's will for safe keeping was filed in Ramsey County on 09/19/1950 (82457).

According to the death certificate of Susana Andert (1958), she died at the Little Sisters of the Poor, 90 Wilken Street, St. Paul of coronary occlusion. The informant
was Sister Agatha.
According to Susana Andert's obituary, she had 33 grandchildren and looks like 73 great-grandchildren. Her mass was at St. Bernard's Catholic Church.
Pastmn.weebly.com (last updated 2022)

Susana was buried at Calvary on February 22, 1958. To find Stephan & Susan's graves, they are behind a tall Virgin Mary stone and in the SW corner of the section.

In 1973, Rose Leitner, Fred Leitner, Joan Leitner and Gladys Leitner (Bob's wife) traveled to Austria. They stayed with cousins of Aunt Rose. Joan & Bernice do not
remember the names, but the house was where Susanna Egger grew-up and is still in the Egger family. (The statute that Susan Andert mentioned was still in the
garden and only about ten inches high.)

To do:
Did Anthony, Mathias, Antonius, Elizabeth & Francis Egger come to the US too?
Egger might be short for Eggerman.
Do I have Katy Andert's death certificate? She's not on the MHS index.
Research the St. Anthony Society & St. Martinus Court No. 550 C.O.F.
In the 1885 City Directory, a Stephen Andert boarded at Charles & Faber & was a teamster.
In 1896, another Stephan Andert (a laborer) boarded at 463 Hatch. He was not in the 1897 City Directory. Not sure who he is.
Does Susanna Egger have an uncle or brother named Christ Egger too? I have his marriage certificate to Mrs. Catherine Wenner (she was probably widowed) on
September 22, 1894. Christ & Catherine are also on the 1895 Ramsey County Census. He was born in 1852 or 1853 (age 42 in 1895) and Catherine was born in 1859
or 1860 (age 35 in 1895).
Did Susanna Egger have another sister, aunt or cousin named Anna who was born on 04/10/1850. Anna married Mathias Andert and begot Frank Andert on
08/20/1870?
When did Farrington Avenue change to Farrington Street?

Frank Andert might have been named after friends of his parents as the Godparents of Bernard M. Andert & Elizabeth Susana Andert were: Christina & Frank
Tschida (source St. Bernard's Church records).

Frank Andert stopped going to St. Bernards because a Priest told him not to marry a methodist woman. Frank didn't go to the Methodist sermon, but would drive his
wife to church and wait in the car. Sis said they weren't as close as the other Anderts because the kids didn't go to the Catholic schools.

According to the birth certificate of Minnie Helen Andert, she was born at 321 Maryland. Her mother, Marie C. Andert was a housewife and age 22. Her father,
Frank J. Andert, was a driver and age 23. Two children were born of this mother and both are still alive.

Minnie Andert was the flower girl at Christina Eva Andert’s wedding to Michael Joseph Tschida on 04/09/1918.
I have also see Marie Katheryn Kuhn’s last name spelled as Cohn & Kuhm.

Leonard Kuhn Andert lived at 1622 Sherburne Avenue (1948), 403 W. Wheelock Parkway, St. Paul, MN (1966), Kansas City, MO in 1977 and Marshalltown, Iowa in
1988.

According to the funeral book of Michael Joseph Tschida (December 18-19, 1966), Mr. & Mrs. Frank J. Andert, Don & Irene Andert, Leonard K. Andert, Ken Andert
& Mr. & Mrs. Paul Weisz attended.

According to the death certificate of Florence Mary Andert (1966), her parents were Anna Chasensky & Joseph Lies. She died at age 48 from respiratory
insufficiency & pneumonia at Ramsey Hospital. She was diabetic too. According to her obituary, she only had two boys & her brother was John Lies from
Minneapolis. (The “Find A Grave” website says Florence M. Andert was born Sept. 7 instead of Sept. 9.) Her husband, Leonard Kuhn Andert was a Private, US
Army.

More information on Florence Mary Andert (nee Lies):

According to the birth certificate of Florence Mary Lies (1917-37496), her mother, Ann M. Chasensky, was age 32, born in WI and a housewife. Her father, Joseph
Henry Lies, was age 30, born in MN and a railroad clerk. She was born at home at 415 W. Willard, Stillwater, MN. Florence was the 4th child born of this mother and
three are alive.
Joseph Henry Lies lived from 1887 to 06/06/1945 (1945-25282) and is buried at St. Michaels in Bayport, MN (block 7, lot 4 & grave 3). He married Anna Mary
Chasensky in 1908. She lived from 07/26/1885 (WI) to 09/01/1959.
Siblings of Florence:
1. Lies, child b. 08/10/1909 (1909-31146) this is probably Margaret Antonitter Lies who died on 11/05/1909 (1909-13885)
2. Lies, John Herbert b. 12/15/1910 (1910-31034)
3. Lies, Antoinette Gertrude 11/06/1915 (1915-38058) to 02/15/1930

According to the death certificate of Marie Kathryn Andert (1969), her parents were Minnie Musse (born in Germany) & Phillip Kuhm (not Kuhn) born in Minnesota.
Marie died from congestive heart failure at Northern Pacific Hospital (NPBA Hospital). Since Leonard’s middle name is Kuhn, that’s probably the right spelling. Her
obituary states that she had 15 grandchildren and 18 g-grandchildren. Marie was a member of the B.L.F. & E. Auxiliary, Minnehaha Lodge No. 57.

Leonard K. Andert's inebriated probate case was filed in Ramsey County on 11/07/1969 (#126274).
According to Leonard K. Andert's obituary, he is survived by sons, Dale & John – both living in Des Moines, Iowa. “Brother of Donald & wife Irene Andert of
Roseville, Minnie & husband Paul Weisz of Maplewood. Funeral services & internment at Marshalltown, Iowa on Oct. 13, 1988.”

Memories/Facts/Tidbits/Sources:
Anna M. Spaulter immigrated to the USA at age of 14 – so around 1907.

According to the marriage certificate of Stephen M. Andert & Anna Spaulter (1913), they were married by a Catholic Priest (looks like Pius Minz) and the witnesses
were EJ Andert & Anna Urmann. From the wedding picture, others in the photo are Christina Eva Andert & Anna Spaulter's brother (probably Michael Spaulter).
Pastmn.weebly.com (last updated 2022)

According to the birth certificate of Catherine Andert (1914), she was the 1st child born to 20-year old Anna Spaulter, a German born housewife, and Stephen M.
Andert (age 22) born in St. Paul, MN. They lived at 1185 Matilda and Stephen was a stock cutter. Anna's middle name is given as “H”, but “M” seems to be correct.

According to the birth certificate of Adolph Andert (1915), he was the 2nd child born to Anna, a housewife, (age 21) and Stephen M. Andert (age 24). They lived at
1185 Matilda and Stephen was a book cutter.

According to the birth certificate of Genevieve Andert (1918), she was the 3rd child born to 24-year old Anna Spaulter, a housewife born in Austria, and Stephen M.
Andert (age 26) born in MN. Stephen was a paper cutter and Genevieve was born at home - 1187 Matilda.

According to the birth certificate of Dorothy Annie Andert (1920), a midwife – Emma Brodie – delivered her at 343 W. Maryland Avenue. (Emma Brodie's address
looks to be 247 Cathedral Road or Place.) Her parents were Anna M. Spaulter, a 26-year old housewife born in Austria, and Stephen M. Andert, a 29-year old stock
holder (paper). Four children were born of her mother and none have died. (There's no indication that Dorothy was a twin.) Since Dorothy's death certificate gives
her name as Anna, she must have went by her middle name.

According to the death certificate of Stephen M. Andert (1922), both of his parents were born in Hungary (it was the Austria-Hungarian Empire). He was a stock
cutter for H. W. Kingston & Co. He died at home (343 W. Maryland) from pulmonary tuberculosis (active, acute) which he had for only one year. The informant was
his wife.

According to the death certificate of Anna Andert (1923), she died from tuberculosis meningitis (TBM) at age 2. The informant was Mrs. Andert at 343 W. Maryland
Avenue.

The 1936 Washington High School yearbook says: “Genevieve Andert – A brunette type is “Geri.” She keeps a diary and is a member of the surveyor staff. A
secretary or tea room hostess are her choices for future work.”

1940 April 10th St. Paul Census – Andert, Anna (age 46, born Austria-Hungary), Catherine (age 25) & Genevieve (age 21, saleswoman retail store).

Anna M. Andert had a curtain sewing business.

Theodore A. Horvath was in the Marines during WWII.

Theodore Alexander Horvath's mother was Miss. Szalai or Salazei. His dad might be Coleman Louis since there's a Jr. in the family (see below). His uncle might be
Alexander Horvath who died on 06/12/1941 (1941-24925) in Ramsey County. Probably siblings based off the maiden names of the Horvath's mothers on MHS'
indexes:
Horvath, Gizella Rose b. 02/02/1909 (1909-35514) mom Miss. Szalay
Horvath, Coleman Louis, Jr. 02/12/1911 to 11/06/1978 (1978-30224) mom Miss. Szalay
Horvath, Eugene Aloysius b. 09/23/1913 (1913-48235) mom Miss. Szalay to 05/08/2001 age 87
m. Frances F. ? (09/14/1919 to 10/30/1983 age 64) buried Fort Snelling (sec. H, site 3047) as he was a PFC in the Marines during WWII (Find A Grave).
Horvath, Louise Catherine b. 04/19/1916 (1916-51400) mom Miss. Szaly
Horvath, Ernest C. 11/09/1920 to 11/17/1984 (1984-29709) age 64 mom Miss. Szalay buried Fort Snelling (sec. V, site 7366) as he was a Tec 3 in the Army during

Horvath Name Meaning

Hungarian (Horváth) and Jewish (from Hungary): ethnic name for a Croat, from Hungarian Horvát (Croatian Hrvat). Compare Horvat. Additionally, this is found as a
nickname for a Hungarian who lived in Croatia, who had dealings with Croatia, or who often traveled there. The Croats were one of the Slavic peoples who settled in
what was then the Roman province of Pannonia in the 7th century ad. From 1091 to 1526 Croatia was under Hungarian rule. As a Jewish name, this indicates
provenance from Croatia. Source: Dictionary of American Family Names ©2013, Oxford University Press

According to the death certificate of Anna M. Andert (1987), she died at Wilder Health Care Center (that might be the 512 Humboldt Avenue address) from probable
pneumonia. She had severe dementia and possible Alzheimer’s. The informant was Catherine Tschida from 3034 Woodbridge Street, St. Paul, MN. According to her
obituary, only Catherine Tschida & Ade Andert outlived her. She had 10 grandchildren and 21 g-grandchildren, and 5 g-g-grandchildren.

In 1987, Adolph Andert lived in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.

A Michael Joseph Spaulter died on 01/01/1944 (1944-23319) in Ramsey County. Perhaps that was Anna Andert's & Michael B. Spaulter's father.

According to the death certificate of Rudolph Martin Tschida (1993), he died at Wedgewood Health Care Center (Inver Grove Heights) from ASHD or ASHS. His
parents were Theresa Haider & Baltizar Tschida (really Balthazar). He had a 8th grade education level & was in the armed forces. He was a die maker at Waldorf
Corporation. (Note: his dad, Baltizar, died young from his car going off a bridge at Como & Western.)

the MHS index. The Social Security Death Index has Irene A. Andert last Residence: 71909 Hot Springs Village, Garland, Arkansas, Born: 13 Jan 1916 Died: 15 Jul
2001. SSN (469-56-3088) issued in Minnesota between 1963-1964.

To do:
How are we related to Henry Jorgensen?
There are 13 “Held” graves in Assumption Cemetery (St. Cloud). So Joan Andert's former husband might be Thomas A. Held or James A. Held.
The MHS index has Theodore Alexander Horvath's birth date at 09/01/1918, but his death certificate has 08/31/1918. Look at it 1918-53470 & 1984-21188 to see
what's right.

(source: marriage certificate).

According to the death certificate of Anna Andert (1949), she died at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Her cause is illegible – looks like uremia (essential hypertension).
The informant was her husband.

According to the death certificate of Raymond Frank Andert (1953), he was born 07/10/1922. (Bernie Andert’s chart incorrectly has 07/07/1921.)

Hospital from probable aortic embolism. He had aortic valve disease for 30+ years. According to Edward B. Andert's obituary, he had ten grandchildren and his
