Teaching Aids: Recording 48: Play the first part of the recording while children listen and
- CD tracks 48 & 49 point to the family members. Play the recording again, all the way through and
- Family flashcards 21-26 ask children to listen, point and then repeat the words together. Then hold up
- Toys flashcards 16-20 the flashcards and ask individual children to repeat the words.
Recording 49: Ask children to listen to the chant once. Then play it a second
time for children to say the words. Divide the class into groups of six and give
Homework: each group a line from the chant. Say the chant with the class. Hold up the
WORKBOOK p. appropriate flashcard when you say the family word.
Stick the stickers: Demonstrate the activity by showing children an example
where you take the grandpa sticker and place it in the correct box while saying
the word. Children copy you and place all the stickers on the page.

Consolidation
Extra activity: Give each child a ‘words’ worsksheet. Check once more that
they know and understand the four words at the top of the worksheet. Then ask
one child to come to the front of the class and to draw a picture of one of the
family members on the worksheet on the board. Ask the children to draw in all
the four boxes on the worksheet and then to check it with their partner. Monitor
and check that children are on task.
