MIGRATON

Human migration is the movement of people from

one place to another with intentions of settling,
permanently or temporarily, at a new location.
WHY PEOPLE MIGRATE?
Some people move in search of work or economic
opportunities, to join family, or to study. Others
move to escape conflict, persecution, terrorism, or
human rights violations. Still others move in
response to the adverse effects of climate change,
natural disasters, or other environmental factors.

Push factors Pull factors

Low employment Higher employment
Lack of safety Safe society
High crime Less crime
Crop failure Fertile land
Effects of migration
For a sending country, migration and the resulting
remittances lead to increased incomes and poverty
reduction, and improved health
and educational outcomes, and promote economic
development. Yet these gains might come at
substantial social costs to the migrants and their
families.
