1. OBJECTIVE

The objective of this procedure is to ensure that the process of conducting the load test in safe
manner. The supervisor shall brief the scope of work to the TOF Representative,
Customer Representative & All other attendees prior to the load test and this document shall be
used in conjunction with other relevant safety procedures such as risk assessment.
2. SCOPE OF WORK
To conduct load test on client’s structural skid according to client specification requirements using
crane and weights. Locations and orientation of the lifting eye bolt are as below:

3. PRE-TEST REQUIREMENTS AND CHECK LIST

Prior to load test, a pre-test check is to be conducted to ensure that everything goes in
accordance to pre- determined plan.

4. TEST DETAILS
a. The skid shall be rigged up with riggings (provided by the client) to the load cell which will be attached to
the crane hook.
b. Pre-verified blocks (with weight marking) will be distributed considering the COG of HPU & WHCP
structure, Refer section 4.1 & 4.2 for weight distribution details (There is no intermediate loading during
the load test).
c. Forklift will be used for loading & removing the load from HPU / WHCP structure.
d. Crane will be operated to raise the structure clear of the ground until reading on the load cell reaches the
required test load reading, that is 1.5 times the dry weight of HPU and WHCP.
e. 1.5 times safety factor is in accordance with client WHCP specification
f. Holding time for the load test shall be 5 minutes.
g. After 5 minutes HPU & WHCP structures will be lowered slowly and steadily onto the ground, releasing
the load, prior to NDT. Once the load has been released, the Structure shall be inspected for any bending
or other deformation.
h. At any point if any bending in base channel is observed, the subsequent loading will be stopped & load
test will be discontinued. Any plastic deformation or crack formation (base frame bending) in HPU or
WHCP structures would be cause for rejection of the structures, the load test shall be stopped and an
NCR will be raised.
i. Load test will be performed in the presence of client representative

k. Pre & post load test, dye penetrant test will be performed to ensure integrity of weld joints and also to
check any post load test defects in the weld joints.
l. The reports of pre and post load test NDE reports will be part of fabrication MRB.
