The document contains instructions for Assignment #1. Students are asked to download the assignment, complete it by handwriting descriptions of various plane figures in 2 sentences or less per figure, take a photo of their work, and submit it along with keeping the original. The assignment then lists and numbers 22 different plane figures and their definitions, including various types of polygons, triangles, quadrilaterals, and trapezoids.

Describe the following Plane Figures:
1. Polygons A polygon is a geometric object with two dimensions and a finitenumber of sides. A polygon' s sides are made up of segments of straight lines that are joined end to end. 2. Non- Polygons Non-polygons shapes are shapes that do not satisfy the criteria of a polygon such as a shape formed by non-straight lines. 3. Triangle A triangle is a closed shape with three vertices, three sides, and three angles. 4. Quadrilateral A quadrilateral is a polygon having four sides, four angles, and four vertices. 5. Regular polygon A regular polygon is a polygon with congruent sides and equal angles. 6. Parallelogram A special kind of quadrilateral called a parallelogram has both pairs of its opposite sides that are parallel and equal. 7. Right Triangle A right triangle is a triangle that has one angle whose measure is 90°. 8. Oblique Triangle An oblique triangle does not have a right angle and can also be classified as an acute triangle or an obtuse triangle. 9. Trapezoid Trapezoids are quadrilaterals with one set of parallel sides. 10. Trapezium A trapezium is a two-dimensional quadrilateral having a pair of parallel opposite sides. 11. Rectangle A rectangle is a closed 2-D shape, having 4 sides, 4 corners, and 4 right angles 12. Square A square is a four-sided polygon which has it's all sides equal in length and the measure of the angles are 90 degrees. 13. Polygons with more than 4 sides Polygons with more than 4 sides are called pentagon, hexagon, heptagon and octagon 14. Equilateral Triangle an equilateral triangle is a triangle in which all three sides have the same length. 15. Scalene Triangle Scalene Triangle is a triangle that has all its sides of different lengths. 16. Isosceles Triangle An isosceles triangle is a triangle with (at least) two equal sides. 17. Acute Triangle An acute triangle is defined as a triangle in which all of the angles are less than 90 18. Obtuse Triangle An obtuse-angled triangle is a triangle in which one of the interior angles measures more than 90° degrees. 19. Rhombus In a rhombus, opposite sides are parallel and the opposite angles are equal. 20. Isosceles Trapezoid An isosceles trapezoid can be defined as a trapezoid in which non-parallel sides and base angles are of the same measure 21. Right Trapezoid A right trapezoid is a trapezoid with at least two right angles. 22. Scalene Trapezoid A scalene trapezoid has four sides of unequal length.
