GUIDING PHILOSOPHY IN ART EDUCATION (Information)

The Education of Arts philosophy believes that the product is the determining factor

of mastery.  Technique and skill are of the utmost importance in the assessment of
the student’s ability to master the art.  This philosophy encourages students to trust
the process and employ their knowledge of technique and skill to ensure the best
possible outcome.  Although the process is important, the true story is told by the
end result and the student’s ability to convey this narrative through the final
product. The Education of Arts philosophy ultimately believes the purpose of arts education
is to develop skill and technique through a socially approved aesthetic medium.

Based on the information above that I conducted, I believe that future students
will require a strong foundation in the arts. Students can learn about their own
identities, cultures, and communities through the medium of art. Art students will
begin to see the world in new ways. As a future educator, it is my responsibility to
cultivate and guide students through high-quality art lessons in order to improve
their understanding and relationship with the outside world. We are all aware
that art provides students with the best process in their lives. It can boost their
self-esteem while also encouraging their creativity and self-expression. The ability
to create something beautiful to share with others is one of the inexplicable,
almost sublime qualities of arts education. It broadens our horizons, allowing us
to do anything and escape from the human world. And as a person, I find that art
is my favorite way to escape reality, express myself, and divert my attention away
from whatever is bothering me at the time. It's been like that since I was a child,
even though I wasn't particularly talented in art, but I didn't give up because I
enjoyed it and liked seeing my progress at the end. I recognize in myself that art
can help me develop the skills and abilities I need to advance in this world. Art
gives me meaning and helps me understand the world around me. Art is a form of
meditation. I enjoy making art. I learn and grow every time I draw or create
something. Above all, I believe that philosophy in art education is really important
because it helps children develop in all areas. Art encourages physical
development as well as the improvement of fine and gross motor skills. Children
learn about themselves and others through art activities. It boosts their self-
esteem tremendously.
