PROCEDURE FOR SMALL VEHICLES AND BIG MACHINES

The engineering manager and the administration manager shall be responsible for the rules and
regulations for how big and small vehicles should be utilized and managed. Oder shall be a mantra in the
transport department to avoid breakdowns, accidents and miss-use of company property vehicles.

 All drivers for small trucks and for big trucks should have valid driver’s license and a good
medical report.
 Appointments shall be done by the engineering manager to clearly indicate who is to drive any
vehicle or machine available for the operations.
 No one shall drive or operate without a valid appointment.
 No driver or operator shall use cell phone during work to avoid lack of concentration during
working time.
 All car services shall be done according to set days by the engineering manager and the
transport officer.
 Daily checks and vehicles inspections shall be done using a checklist before start of work and the
driver should be tested for alcohol.
 Weekly services shall be done on Sundays for all trucks for a period of 4hrs to improve on
vehicles fitness even if the car was not working.
 Full service for excavator if we use total oil is done after 500hrs of working, hydraulic is after
2000hrs of working or after 8-9 months of working.
 Gear oil first service should be done at 100 000km or after 10 months of working.
 After 100hrs for all machines we clean the fuel filters and flash the diesel tanks.
 When machines are new, dozer, excavator and loader oil is changed after 250hrs and when they
work for 1000hrs we revert to the normalcy.
 For dump trucks full service shall be done after 5000-7000km if we use total or after 500hrs.
 Fuel filter for dump trucks shall be cleaned after 1000km and fuel filter shall be changed during
full service.
 For dozer, excavator and loader fuel filter shall be changed after 500hrs.
 All car keys shall be kept by the transport officer.
 The dozer, excavator and front loader bucket tooth should be welded to avoid rapid annealing.
 All cars shall not move at late times like 2200hrs unless by approval from Technical Director,
Administration manger and the transport manager.
 No driver shall be allowed to carry strangers for personal gains unless told to do so by head of
departments.
 Company cars shall carry company workers only.
 Big truck shall not exceed 40km/hr unless in case of emergencies.
 Small vehicles shall not exceed 60km/hr unless in case of emergencies.
 No one shall be allowed to overload company vehicles.
 New vehicles shall be loaded at least 80-90% to suit the roads.
 Old vehicles shall be loaded at least 70-80%.
 All loads shall be secured with a rope to avoid obstructions.
 Vehicle log books and check lists should be kept always together with the vehicle which will
track car movements, the transport officers, mechanics and the officials should counter sign for
vehicle fitness.
