GaBi Education Installation Guide
This document guides you through the installation process of the GaBi Education licence. Please follow the
instructions in the following sections.

There are four main steps to set up GaBi Education:

1 GaBi Education installation instructions
Download software package from the link provided
• An executable setup file will be downloaded onto your computer

Execute the setup file

• Double click the setup file. Either the dialog field below appears or it will jump straight to Step
3 (this depends on your user rights). Click Yes.

Installation setup of GaBi Education starts – click Next.

Accept the Licence Agreement and click Next.

Change the installation folder if required and then click Next.

Change the folder name for the short cut if required, then click Next.

Choose whether you want a short cut on your desktop and then click Next.

Installation process starts.

Click Finish to start GaBi the first time.

Enter your serial number and fill the other required fields, then click Next.

Click Next.

Click Next.

Congratulations! The GaBi Education software is now installed on your computer and ready to run.

3 General information and trouble-shooting
Licensing Status
To check your current licensing status you can open the licence viewer:

A new window appears reflecting your actual licensing status.

Default location of GaBi files (can be changed):

C:\Users\Your username\Documents\GaBi Education

Troubleshooting

This troubleshooting guide lists some of the common installation problems people run into.

Installation

Problem: Error message “This product requires at least Administrator Privileges. Setup cannot con-
tinue”
Solution: Contact your administrator. You don’t have the sufficient rights to install software.

Registration/activation

Problem: Online activation failed.

Solution: Please check your internet connection/proxy settings.

Problem: During activation process an error message occurs that the connection to the Activation
server failed due to the computer’s time.
Solution: Set the time of the computer to the current date and time

Problem: I cannot access the licence viewer via the GaBi menu.
Solution: Each error message shows a question mark at the lower left corner. If you click on this the
licence viewer can be opened.
