Project Management
— What is a Project?

— A Project is a temporary activity with a defined start and


finish and which produces a unique product or service.

Unlike a production process, a project is for one purpose and


one result. The result of a project may be then used in a
production or construction process.

— eg. We may run a project to develop a new IT program for


estimating the time needed to complete a building. The end result
– the program – will then be used after the project is finished.

help complete projects or to “deliver” the project.

organizations as the key to successful projects;

are unique. They have not been done before so no-
