2. How to connect

Information about how to connect each part to device

Connect power only with the unit turned off.

Recommend you use only the supplied adaptor.

Insert SD Card when using RESET function.

i-PROG supports convenient online credit function.

Connect LAN or USB to update i-PROG or charge online credit.

Disconnecting the cable before completion will cause errors.

Connect a Jig cable to the device when you work with contact
type chips.

Place a chip as close to the center of the antenna as possible.

The wrong position can cause errors.

Please use the right Jig for each type of chips..

Applying excessive force to the connector, can cause pins to


be bent which may cause errors.

1. Way of Searching models

1) Main Screen
When credit insterted, this icon will be shown.
The figures on right side indicate remained credit.

1-1) Way of Searching models A.

Put a jig on a chip (In case of RFID chip, place it on the antena)
with the main screen on. If you click search button ( button
on main body), it is available for searching model without
selecting menu. Reset A is the simplest method. However,
since there are limitations for some models, please read notices
before you use it.

★ Notice 1.
If you search or reset with different model number for RFID-LF series chips from the
below box, chip data can be damaged because of chip features. With this issue,
i-PROG does not support automatic search function(Search A).
--> To avoid any problem for these series chips, DO NOT search your chip from the
main page. Instead, please search with exact model number (Reset B) or enter into the
exact series.

After searching for the typical model what you look for in order to reset, proceed with the model
search on series search display.

★ Notice 2.

IF or below listed chips, it will be locked if you attempt to reset or search with wrong
model no more than 7~8 times. If a chip is locked, it will not be possible to reset or
search again. Many models are in similar or same shape but the data can be different
for each model. If you don't know the exact
model, we recommend you to use automatic search(Reset A) to avoid any trouble from
direct model selection (Reset B)

1. Select 'RESET' menu from the main screen.

2. Select searching condition. : Recent work / Model / Brand

1. Recent Work : Select the model from recent used list.

2. MODEL : Select the model by model name.

2. Operation Options

1) Setting operation options I. Basic Option

* Information displayed when searching


ㆍCredit : Quantity of credit reduced when operatin
ㆍStatus : Whether to use chip, sort by New or Used
ㆍRemain : Remained page yield (It's estimated figures, so
there could be some gab from actual one of printers.
ㆍAuto region : Status of auto region function, Sort by
ON or OFF(*Auto-region function will be explained, later.)
ㆍSerial no. : Serial number of a chip
ㆍJig : Jig No. to be used
ㆍOriginal : Whether it's Original or Compatible, Sort by Y or N
ㆍLock Code : Number of Lock code (Credit will not be
reduced if exceed 4 lock code.)
ㆍVersion : Firmware version of a chip

*Mandatory operational option: Please tap arrow
next to 'reset' box to open it.

a. RESET : Resetting chip. Depending on diffrence betrween original and compatible, models available is
different. Please check supported model for details of the supported model information.
Credit will be reduced to operate.

b. Information : In current status of the chip, it is available to modify Change contents including country,
color, capacity and so on. This serveice is not available for original chips, and even
for the compatible chips, supported models and conditions to change are limited.
Credit will NOT be reduced to operate. Basically, only new chips(unused) are
avaiable for changing information.

c. Upgrade : Upgrade the Firmware of chip to the lastest one. When you reset, upgrading is done at
the same time, so for the resetted chip, this work is not needed additionally.
Credit will NOT be reduced to operate.

d. Data Read : In order to check data if the chip is abnormal, or to send data for development, read
the data of a chip. Data read from this function, is available for transferring to sever
and checking in 'Additional function> Data transfer'. Credit will NOT be reduced to operate.

2) Setting operation options Ⅱ. Elective Options

*Additional Options: Clicking square box and selecting to


check with V mark
<Supported option will be different depends on the model and
original/compatible chip..>

ㆍAuto Mode : Continue to work with the current settings After selecting check
box and clicking Start button, it operates. For disabling, please
check box button or change options.
ㆍAuto Region : Modify *Auto-Region as' On' or 'Off' on the chip.
ㆍExternal Antenna : Choose to work with external antenna, not with internal one inside the
device. It is convenient for resetting chip attached to the catridge.
*Auto Region - When a chip is not recognized due to regional version, without
needing to change the chip or to change regional information in
i-PROG, version can be changed by on and off of power of the
printer. This function makes chips to change regional version in
order of DOM > EXP > EUR >CHN until it finds the mathing version.
(Available for some Samsung Series of Chips only)

Basic procedure is same with Reset and as the following process, click the arrow next to current chip
information and select parts to be modified.

Ⅳ. Additional Functions

1. Inspection

If you sellect 'Additional Functions' from the main screen, the screen on right side below
will be shown.

'Verify wheter the data of chips are correct. Data in various chips can be inspected
without testing by a printer. Through the three ways of model searching (Recent work,
Model, Brand) as the same process with 'Reset, sellect model to inspect. Then press
'START' button.

2. Operation History

If you sellect 'Additional Functions' from the main screen, the screen on right side below
will be shown.

iThrough i-PROG, it is available for checking the entire history of works. In order of
recent work, it is available for checking the entire history of work and statistically by
period(monthly/daily) and by work(Reset, Information Change upgrade and Inspection).
In case of statistical inquiry, operated number is calculated and displayed for each same
model.

3. Data Trasfer

If you sellect 'Additional Functions' from the main screen, the screen on right side below
will be shown.

Trasfer the data read from 'Reset' to server(This function is also available with
i-PROG manager.) To transfer, Internet LAN should be connected to 'LAN" of back of main body.

If clicking 'Transfer' key next to data not transmitted (expressed with N), the following
window shows up. If clicking 'Yes', transfer is proceeeded and after the completion, the
message of ''transfer completed'
shows up.

2. Credit Charging

Charge online credit to the SD Card you currently have.


With the SD Card inserted, enter credit information
in the blank, and then press 'Charge' button.
LAN Cable should be connected to the device for
this work. (This work is also available with i-PROG
manager.)

3. i-PROG Upgrade

If there is upgrade for model addition or performance


improvement,
upgrade the device to the latest version.
After connecting device to LAN Cable, and press
'Upgrade' button, upgrade will be processed.
(This work is also available with i-PROG manager.)

4. Device Information

Shows information of device Version, Serial no.


Bluetooth name, and Network .
