● Why is this a top choice- what makes it special?


○ In the town where all of my mom's side of the family lives, so I feel a deep
emotional connection. Also, my grandfather taught here, and my uncle attended
here. They also provide quality programs in the art department.

○ First-year students are encouraged to submit their applications for the fall
semester by Dec. 1
● Cost of admission
○ $50
● Requirements for college/ program (pick major)
○ Individualized Studies Major (Art)- A bachelor of arts degree must include a
minimum of 90 credit hours in liberal arts courses. Requires completion of SUNY
Plattsburgh’s General Education Program, 42 credits of courses at the 300–400
level, and 120 total credits.

○ Ranked #2 in the United States for “Best bang for your buck” in industrial design
programs. Plus, it is in New York, and a private institution.

○ Early decision: November 1st, January 1st Regular: January 15th
● Cost of admission
○ $65
● Requirements for college/ program (pick major)
○ Industrial Design BFA- For all bachelor’s degree programs, a strong performance
in a college preparatory program is expected. Generally, this includes 4 years of
English, 3-4 years of mathematics, 2-3 years of science, and 3 years of social
studies and/or history. Studio art experience and a portfolio of original artwork are
required for all programs in the schools of Art and Design. A portfolio must be
submitted.

RIT
This was the first school that really “caught my attention”. Reading more into the programs
helped me realize that I enjoy the design aspect more than the engineering aspect. I also enjoy
where the school is located.
