The story of ‘Servis’ begins with a group of friends – young, energetic, fresh from college – who

established Service Industries more than 50 years ago.

These young men, named Ch. Nazar Muhammad (Late), Ch. Muhammad Hussain (Late) both
from Gujrat district and Ch. Muhammad Saeed (Late) from Gujranwala District, started business
in 1941 at a small scale in Lahore. At that time, they were only manufacturing handbags and
some other sports goods. Within years their business flourished remarkably and they were
supplying their products to every corner of India at the time of Partition.

In 1954, they installed a shoe manufacturing plant at industrial area Gulberg, Lahore. This
started production in the same year. The industry started manufacturing various types of
shoes. Later management shifted the factory from Lahore to Gujrat. Service Sales Corporation
(Pvt.) Ltd. the Group’s marketing company was established in 1959. Humility, fairness, and
respect were the values close to the heart of these founders and it were these values that led to
phenomenal success of the Group over the years.

Today, the production side of the company has flourished into Service Industries Limited (SIL)
which has world-class shoes, tyres, tubes, and rubber production facilities in Gujrat and
Muridke. Service Industries Limited (SIL) is also the leading exporter of footwear.

Servis
Servis units are vertically integrated covering all functions from cutting, closing to lasting and
shoe finishing. We have automatic cutters, 6 DESMA machines (30 station) and 5 Gusbi
machines. Production lines are equipped with conveyor systems following lean production
philosophy. Servis engineering teams take pride in the fact that they form a layer of competitive
advantage for the company by lowering the product cost through production management. In
addition to the regular production engineering initiatives, we have PRET (Process re-engineering
teams) instituted who work closely with the material research and development teams to keep
rising raw material costs in control.

Servis production management teams:

1. Are in regular contact with leading machinery vendors in Europe to keep abreast with
latest technological challenges.
2. Regularly visit machinery trade fairs in Europe to identify technological gaps.
3. Consist of highly skilled labor with lowest turnout in the Pakistan footwear industry.
4. Are trained for mass production as well as specialized products – separate units are in
place for each.

DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT

Service Industries Limited is a design led and design focused company. The company’s design
talent and capabilities set it apart from other market players. It has a specialized in-house
design team of more than 50 skilled designers frequently traveling abroad.

They work in close coordination with partners in Europe to produce shoes in line with latest
fashion trends. These designers coordinate with each other and keep themselves updated on
the latest changes in footwear designs throughout the world. In addition to this, the design
teams regularly conduct trend and marketplace analysis to understand changing requirements
of the market. As a contract manufacturer, our development team works closely with
customers across the world. We take pride in our capabilities for a quick turnaround time for
samples.

Servis Export
Service Industries Limited has two production facilities covering more than 80 acres – each
equipped with state-of-the-art double density direct injected polyurethane plants.

The supply chain of Service Industries Limited is a world-wide network of suppliers, factories,
warehouses, and distribution centers through which raw materials are acquired, transformed
and delivered to customers.

In order to optimize performance, our supply chain function operates in a coordinated manner.
Supply chain management system is flexible enough to coordinate the revision of
plans/schedules across supply chain functions. The agility with which Servis supply chain is
managed at the tactical and operational levels in order to enable timely dissemination of
information, accurate coordination of decisions and management of actions among people and
systems, is what ultimately determine the efficient, coordinated achievement of company goals.

Servis Long March
SERVICE LONG MARCH TYRES (PVT) LIMITED, First All-Steel Radial Truck & Bus Tyres, Made Proudly in
Pakistan, A Greenfield Project

Introduction:
SLM is the first All-Steel Radial Tyres manufacturing facility of its kind in Pakistan with complete
transfer of technology from the commencement of the project. The project has been set up in
Sindh Industrial Trading Estate (S.I.T.E), Nooriabad, Sindh. Commercial production of the project
commenced in March 2022 with export to multiple countries.
 
 JV Arrangement & Transfer of Technology:
 
1. SLM uses latest technology known as All Steel Radial manufacturing with
complete in-house research facilities and capability to manufacture finished
product from scratch.
2. For this purpose, Service Industries Limited (SIL) entered into a joint venture
arrangement with Chaoyang Long March Tyre Co. Ltd, (LM), a leading Chinese
manufacturer of all-steel truck & bus radial tyres and Myco Corporation Pakistan.
3. The Joint Venture Company bears the name of Service Long March Tyres (PVT)
Limited.
