After two years of distance learning the government finally allowed the higher
educational institution to hold face to face classes at full classroom capacity. The IATF
or the Inter-Agency task force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases,
approved the recommendations of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), to
conduct a full capacity face-to-face class in all tertiary schools or colleges under
alert Level 1, as long as participants—students and faculty members of the school
are fully vaccinated.

Honestly, for me this act of government to loosen its restrictions is a good

idea for us students and for teachers, because this will give us relief after two years
of difficulties brought by the pandemic. However, in my opinion it is not yet time to
implement the full classroom capacity face to face classes, for the main reason that
Covid still exist at there are still individuals who gets infected by this virus. Take
note that we`re still not a Covid free country, and the numbers of individuals who
were tested positive for Covid is constantly increasing. Although the numbers are
low compared to last year, and it is not noticeable as it was a year ago, but the fact
that this virus is still exist, it still a threat to our health. Aside from that, the other
reason that I opposed the implementation of full classroom capacity face to face
classes, is the lack of innovation in education system. Personally, I think if the full
classroom capacity be implemented, we will just go back to the classic Mon-Fri
class routine we had in pre-pandemic. And for me it is not ideal anymore, specially
that education evolved during the pandemic. We were able to discover different
mode of learning, and we have showed that it was possible to have class even in
distance. So, if we would go back to the classic class routine, all these discoveries
and the potential to push education system further would become a waste.
Additionally, the implementation of full classroom capacity face to face class will
affect working students who support themselves in their studies and other
expenses. If this will be implemented, working students will have a hard time
managing their schedule and would possibly result for a drop out. Therefore, instead
of implementing the full classroom capacity face to face class, we should just stick
with the limited face to face class with the blended learning set up. In this way
everybody will have a chance to study and our educ system will be more effective.
