Interpretation:

The painting depicts a representational art of Adam and God with His other
creations in His own image and likeness that manifests a subjective meaning. In the
bible, Adam is collectively referred to as “mankind”. On one hand, Adam’s
expression showing his opened eyes represents awareness, his body position
explains his freedom as man, and his contracted finger signifies his decision
whether to touch God. On the other hand, is God’s will and determination by
extending his hand at its maximum. This means that God is present in every human,
but it is man’s decision whether to connect to Him.
