2.1 Overview
Integrity™ R1.1 is a treatment control system (TCS) that operates with the Elekta digital accelerators
and beam limiting devices (BLDs, which include the MLCi, MLCi2, and Beam Modulator™).
Integrity™ replaces Desktop Pro™, and includes the LynxOS operating system on the control
processor.
Integrity™ R1.1 includes a number of delivery techniques. Some of the delivery techniques are
licensed options, these are:
• PreciseBEAM™ Segmental
• PreciseBEAM™ Dynamic
• PreciseBEAM™ Dynamic Arc
• PreciseBEAM™ VMAT.
There is an interdigitation function for the MLCi2 and the Beam Modulator™.
With Integrity™ R1.1, you can use continuously variable dose rates (CVDR) to get 256 dose rates. In
Clinical Mode, CVDR is available for Dynamic, Dynamic Arc, and volumetric intensity modulated
arc therapy (VMAT) beams. In Service Mode, you can use CVDR for all X-ray beams.
2.1.2 Parts
Each software item have many different parameters known as parts, which are arranged in a
standard format. The parts change data values to actual MU (volts, amps, degrees, millimeters and
so on). Conceptually, the parts can be considered as a database of several thousand parameters that
are accessed by the software items at need. However, not all parts are used by every software item.
Detailed information on the parts is given in Section 2.5 for the digital accelerator and Precise
Table, in Section 2.5 for the MultiLeaf Collimator, and in Section 2.6 for the Beam Modulator™.
The energy-specific information is shown in groups of data known as calibration blocks. The
calibration block for the applicable energy is read by the software when the energy is selected, and is
updated with new values when the Save Energy Cal. Blocks command is used.
The Service page(s) of Integrity™ lets you see and adjust the values of the software items used by the
applicable system, subsystem or function.
1 To get access to the service pages, click the Display Service Pages icon or press
<Shift>+<F6>).
The Display Service Pages dialog opens.
2 To choose a service page, click the Load button or press <Shift>+<F6>).
The Service Page Selection panel opens.
3 In the Pages Available list, click the name of the service page that you want to load, then click
OK.
The selected service page opens.
The Edit Machine Item Part function lets you see the software items that do not appear on a
Integrity™ service page.
1 To open the Edit Machine Item Part panel, click the Edit Machine Item Part icon or press
<Shift>+<F9>).
2 Type the item number that you want to view into a data field, or use a menu button to choose
the item name from a drop-down list of items.
1 To see the parts in an item, click the Display Machine Item icon or press <Shift>+<F6>).
The Display Machine Item dialog opens, showing the present values of all parts in the selected
item.
For detailed instructions on using Integrity™ R1.1 in Service mode, see the Integrity™R1.1 Instructions
for Use - Service Mode User Manual.
The values for data type, range, resolution, and units are the values for part 1 and part 4 of the item.
If the values such as range, resolution, and units are shown in Resolution row (in brackets), then all
are applicable to the stated part number.
The data type of the item can be one of the following:
Integer 16-bit signed, -32767 to +32767
Word 16-bit unsigned, 0 to 65535
Byte 8-bit unsigned, 0 to 255
Real Real numbers with one or two decimal place precision
Boolean Bit 0 indicates the boolean state: 1 = True, 0 = False
True: odd numbers or False: even numbers
Item number The item contains another item number
container
Void No data type
Note: If a table of an item number appears again (same item number), then this means that the item was
used under a different description for a different Integrity™ software release which will be indicated on
the first line.

the value of the item:
RTU address from 0 to 5 (part 104)
Device address from 0 to 127
Read\write bit 0 or 1.
This part is the device address, indicating the PCB and channel with which the item is
communicating
This part is the raw value that is added to the offset part. The value of part 110 is calculated by
adding the calibration offset value part 10 to the raw data part 111.
This part is the raw data read from an AI12 PCB or a DIE PCB. The raw data can be a 12-bit digital
representation of an analog value from an AI12 PCB, or a binary value that is 1 bit of a 16-bit word
from a DIE PCB. The value of part 111 is not the true value of the source data, due to 0 volt
differences.
The value of part 14 distinguishes between incoming analog or digital data.
This part is the required setting part, initially derived from part 1 × part 12 (inverse gain). For
process items and stand-alone transmit items, part 112 is used as a set value. For servo process
items, the value may be adjusted automatically by feedback when the servo is enabled.
This part is the accumulated error from the output of the servo process item. The part is used
mainly in transmit items as the new set value, to correct any error in the corresponding transmit
item.
This part is uncalibrated units derived from part 19. Part 121 has the same function as part 19, but
with different units. Thus:
part 121 = part 19 × (part 12/2048) + part 10
This part is the uncalibrated units derived from part 20. Part 122 has the same function as part 20,
but with different units. Thus:
part 122 = part 20 × (part 12/2048) + part 10
This part is the upper design limit. The part functions in the same way as part 121 but cannot be
adjusted.
This part is the process identification part: for example, the filter type for receive items.
For items that display the value -32767 when HT is Off, the real value can be displayed by setting the
value of part 130 to 10.
The function of part 131 varies, depending on the item in which it is contained.
For example, in movement start items, part 131 is the gain value of the check potentiometer.
The function of part 132 varies, depending on the item in which it is contained.
For example, in movement start items, part 132 is the offset value of the check potentiometer.
The function of part 133 varies, depending on the item in which it is contained.
For check potentiometer items, part 133 is the amount by which the value of the check
potentiometer can vary from that of the coarse potentiometer without an error.
For steering servo items 2R and 2T, part 133 is a pointer to the lookup table that the item is using.
Thus:
2R low = 0
2T low =1
2R high = 2
2T high = 3
2R mid = 4
2T mid =5
The function of part 134 varies, depending on the item in which it is contained.
For demand items, part 134 contains the quadratic gain.
For the light field item, part 134 is the time delay before the light is switched Off.
For movement control items, part 134 is the raw value of the maximum permitted unexpected
movement.
For magnet systems, the change threshold should be 1.
The function of part 135 varies, depending on the item in which it is contained.
For demand items, part 135 contains the linear gain.
For the magnetron tuner servo, part 135 is the change threshold used to set the value of integrated
composite phase error that must accumulate before the magnetron attempts to correct.
For magnet systems, the overshoot should be 1000.
The function of part 136 varies, depending on the item in which it is contained.
For steering servo items 2R and 2T, part 136 is the adjustment to the set value at a given gantry
angle, as specified in the lookup table.
This is the part that is available for parameter of process item which is saveable in the digital
accelerator database save.
This is the part that is available for parameter of process item which is saveable in the digital
accelerator database save.
This is the part that is available for parameter of process item which is saveable in the digital
accelerator database save.
The function of part 142 varies, depending on the item in which it is contained.
For process items, part 142 is the output or loop gain (for example, calibration of beam error values,
phase gain of magnetron tuner system).
For movement start items, part 142 is the fine potentiometer gain.
For movement start items, part 143 is the offset value for the coarse potentiometer.
For movement start items, part 144 is the offset value for the fine potentiometer.
The function of part 151 varies, depending on the item in which it is contained.
The function of part 152 varies, depending on the item in which it is contained.
For example, in i44, part 152 shows the segment dose in 1/64 of an MU: for example, 6400 for
100 MU, and the value of part 152 decrements as the dose is delivered.
The function of part 153 varies, depending on the item in which it is contained.
For example, in control area power supply items part 153 records the address of the last RTU to
violate a limit.
The function of part 154 varies, depending on the item in which it is contained.
The function of part 155 varies, depending on the item in which it is contained.
The function of part 156 varies, depending on the item in which it is contained.
For example, in check potentiometer items, part 156 shows the difference between the coarse and
check potentiometers. If the difference is greater than the value in part 133 (normally 250), then an
error is flagged.
The value of part 156 is updated when the new value exceeds the old value.
The function of part 157 varies, depending on the item in which it is contained.
For example, in movement start items, part 157 this is the maximum fine potentiometer error.
The function of part 158 varies, depending on the item in which it is contained.
The function of part 159 varies, depending on the item in which it is contained.
In servo items, setting the value of part 160 from 2 to 0 to 3 simulates a reboot (item changes are
implemented).
This part is used in three-potentiometer and beam uniformity items to set the item to Learn mode
