Daily changes in the weather are due to winds and storms.

Torrential rains, flash floods, thunderstorms and typhoons are not


new to the Filipinos at any age. They are common occurrence in this
tropical country.Weather disturbance is a change in the atmospheric
conditions that can lead to storm formation.

The weather condition in the Philippines are: Tropical cyclones


which is an intense circular storm, tends to produce strong winds and heavy
rainfall that may cause flash flooding. Tornado is a small-diameter column
of violent air that can cause destruction and great loss of life mainly from
flying debries and collapsing structures. Storm, on the otherhand, is a
violent atmospheric disturbance,characterized by low pressure cloud cover,
precipitation,strong winds,and possibly lightning and thunder.

Weather Disturbances in the Philippines:

 Tropical Cyclones – an intense circular storm that tends to produce


strong winds and heavy rainfall that may cause flashfloods.

 Tornado – is a small-diameter column of violent airthat can cause


destruction and loss of life,mainly from flying debris and
collapsing structures.

 Storm - is a violent atmospheric disturbance,characterized by low


pressure,cloud cover,precipitation,strong winds, lightning and
thunder.

What Is It

These weather disturbances affect people’s lives. Some activities are


disrupted, health conditions arises such as common colds and cough. It also
causes destruction of properties as to damages of homes,buildings due to
flashfloods, strong winds and heavy rains. Lack of food supply due to
damage of crops.
These are natural phenomena that human cannot control. Therefore,
we must be vigilant and should know the precautionary measures on what
to do if weather disturbances occur.
