All About Me

Throughout my childhood I found that I was surrounded by teachers, whether it be family

or going through the school system for twelve years. I’ve met many people and met multiple

teachers that made me truly care for education. Out of them all the two that made me truly want

to go into education was one of my art teachers, and my teachers education teacher. My art

teacher was really a trustworthy adult that I felt I could talk to and really made me want to

become an art teacher. Years later (as the art teacher was my middle school teacher) I went to

Northwest Career and Technical Academy, and started in the education program. I found that the

more I worked on projects and other assignments that I truly enjoyed the thrill of working in the

program. We spent those four years writing lesson plans, teaching lesson plans to the class, and

the kindergarteners next door. I even got to do an internship at an elementary school where I got

to teach art classes every so often. I’ve done so much and had so much fun, and really did enjoy

teaching. Although it wasn’t my own classroom I'm excited to teach, I want students to have fun,

and wanting to be an art teacher I want students to take something away from the art they do. I

also want to be that teacher that you can come to and talk about anything with. I want to truly

make a difference in a student's life just how my teachers did for me. Although I am just one

person, and most likely can’t make a huge difference, those who I do encounter I want to make a

lasting impact on how that student perceives their education and pursuits later in life. I want

them to look at their education as something that's truly important. If you’ve heard of the idea of

being a lifelong learner (basically taking time to legitimately try and think of everything as more

information to add to your collection…in a way) , I enjoy this ideology entirely because I’ve

slowly adopted it into my own lifestyle. I’d like to show students that a life full of learning is a

life well lived!
