Background: Animated Field or Playground

Kid: “Hi, there! Have you ever wondered how things really work? Because how is it possible
that a huge and heavy object like an airplane fly?”

(a paper plane will appear in the background and the kid will avoid it)

Kid: “Wait...! what if magic is real!?”

(a magic wand will appear on the kid's hand)

Background: Animated Laboratory

(change persona into a scientist)

Scientist: “Nope! it's all about science, kid! Tara dahil ipapakita ko sa'yo ang kasagutan sa iyong
mga katanungan.”

Background: An airplane picture with labels of its different parts.

Scientist: “It is true that an airplane is huge and heavy as it is build of titanium, steel, aluminum,
and many other materials. However, what makes it fly in the sky is not Genie or any sort of
abracadabra, but physics alone.”
Background: Illustration of the Four Foces of Flight of an Airplane.
Scientist: “There are four forces of flight as shown in the given picture. These includes Thrust,
Lift, Drag, and Weight.”

Scientist: “Airplanes fly because they are able to generate a force called Lift which normally
moves the airplane upward. Lift is generated by the forward motion of the airplane through the
air. This motion is produced by the Thrust of the engine(s).”

(show in the screen how lift and thrust functions and works together as well as where the
engine(s) are located)

Scientist: “While DRAG is the force produced by the resistance of the air to the forward motion
of the airplane. Swish your hand rapidly side-to-side and you will feel that resistance on your
hand.”

(the scientist will swish his/her hand rapidly side-to-side as a demonstration)

Scientist: “WEIGHT on the other hand is the force created by the pull of gravity toward the
center of the earth. You will feel the effect of this force if you jump up from the floor. Your
weight will force you back down.”

(the scientist will take multiple jumps as a demonstration of how gravity pulls you back toward
the center of the earth)

Scientist: “When the Thrust produced by the engine(s) is greater than the force of Drag, the
airplane moves forward. When the forward motion is enough to produce a force of Lift that is
greater than the Weight, the airplane moves upward.”

(present the Thrust > Drag & Lift > Weight = Take off photo)
And voila! that's how it works.”

Kid: “WOW! I thought it would be impossible to understand how airplanes could fly, but with
the right explanation, it's really indeed not magic which brings a person from one place to
another, but the law of physics and mechanics.”

Background: Bact to the animated laboratory

Scientist: “See? Matagal na itong palaisipan sa atin, ngunit hindi lahat ay handang alamin kung
ano ang nakamamanghang paliwanag sa likod nito ang naghihintay, kaya ako si Shanaia mula sa
paaralan ng D.T. Durano na nagpapaalalang keep on learning for there are more interesting
things waiting to unveil! Thank you for watching and I hope you learn something. Ba-bye!”
