LESSON OBJECTIVES
CONTENT STANDARD:
The learner demonstrates understanding of the musical characteristics of representative music
from the lowlands of Luzon.
PERFORMANCE STANDARD:
The learner performs music of the lowlands with appropriate pitch, rhythm, expression and style
LEARNING COMPETENCIES:
 Identifies the musical instruments and other sound sources from the Lowlands of Luzon;
MU7LU-Ib-3
 Explores ways of producing sounds on a variety of sources that is similar to the instruments
being studied; MU7LU-Ib-f- 4
 Improvises simple rhythmic/melodic accompaniments to selected music from the Lowlands
of Luzon; MU7LU-Ic-f

At the end of the session, students are expected to:


a. name the musical instruments and group them according to their sounds and
sources.
b. create simple rhythmic/melodic accompaniments from a variety of sources that are
similar to the instruments being studied, and
c. displays appreciation of instrumental music from the Lowlands of Luzon through
active participation in discussion and activities.

The teacher will provide the class with pictures of different musical instruments. Students will
group this musical instruments according to how they deem fit.

INSTRUMENT MAKING
Students will create simple rhythmic/melodic accompaniments from a variety of sources that are
similar to the instruments being studied using recycled materials that can be found in their home.
