Applied social science, is a 

discipline that used to apply existing scientific knowledge based on

scientific researches and also to developing a practical application of science - such as
technology, methodology, and inventions. And, social science is a study of human behavior,
relationship with other human in terms of emotions, psychologic, the impact of belief to
environment based on scientific research.
In other words,
“Pure” social science could study a hypothetical or model organization. "Applied" social science
either transfers that study to an actual human organization or builds a model of the human
organization which can be studied in a “pure” context. As in all branches of science, “one hand
washes the other.”
