Mining and the Modern Society

For our documentation on Mining in the Philippines, so far we have planned that the content of
the video will be the following:

I. An Introduction to Mining

1.1 Statistical data of mining in the Philippines

1.2 Background locations of mining in the Philippines

II. Video clips of the mining process that shows its impact to the ecosystem

1.1 Advantage and Disadvantages

1.2 Positive and Negative impact

III. Interview with the resource person. (We are yet to send a letter for an appointment to
interview Secretary Roy A. Cimatu from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

The potential questions are:

1. What is mining and how is this practice a part from our survival and a need for the
country?
2. How is mining significant, and what will be the effect if we have to live without it?
3. What are the dangers and risk that we can get from mining?
4. How does mining affect our ecosystem today, especially in our country?
5. If this is a problem, are there solutions that have been planned? Is there a call to action
for the Filipinos to divert them from the problem?
