Values are personal beliefs because of which we give a certain

Personality is possibly characteristic sets of behaviors, cognitions,


PERSONALITY and emotional patterns that evolve from biological and environmental
factors.

PERCEPTIONS Perception is a neurophysiological processes, including memory, by


which an organism becomes aware of and interprets external stimuli.

Emotions are instinctive or intuitive feeling as distinguished from


EMOTIONS & ATTITUDES reasoning or knowledge. Attitude is an orientation about the way we
feel and think about something.
STRESS MANAGEMENT Stress Management abilities – Putting stress in perspective can
ABILITIES help us deal with stress appropriately.

MARS BAR
MARS BAR model of individual behavior is a model that seeks to explain individual behavior as a
result of internal and external factors or influences acting together.

Level at which initial rules, regulations and
policies are formed.

It also includes the study of organizational culture, structure, cultural


diversity, inter-organizational cooperation and coordination.

It further includes the study of dispute, change, technology, and external


environmental forces.

Autocratic Model of OB
Autocratic model depends on 3 key aspects:
1. Strength
2. Power
3. Formal Authority.

Characteristics:
(a) Managers have formal authority for controlling employees reporting to
them.
(b) Team members are mostly operating at execution level.
(c) Decision making rests at top management level.

Custodial Model of OB
Custodial Model aims for economic security for employees. Two
ways to achieve it are:
1. Effective Wage
2. Appreciable and useful benefits

Characteristics:
(a) Higher employee motivation
(b) Job security for employees, thereby also promoting low level performance at
times.
(c) Extended tenure of employees, so organizational knowledge IP remains
secure for a longer period of time.

Supportive Model of OB
Supportive model is focused on generating aspirational leadership.
Relationship is key

Characteristics:
(a) Believes that employees are self motivated.
(b) Believes that employees have value and insights to contribute.
(c) They are invited to ideate and their ideas are adapted also.
(d) Often it indicates better alignment to organizational goals and higher degree
of organizational citizenship behavior.

Collegial Model of OB
Collegial model is focused on Teamwork
( amongst colleagues) Together we achieve
more

Characteristics:
(a) Opportunity for everyone.
(b) Participative culture.
(c) Job titles and Status not primary driver of work.
(d) Manager is the coach who aims to create positive work
environment and energetic workplace
(e) Team goals are prioritized and team performance is the
measure.

Systems Model of OB
Systems model provides a wholistic approach . Here the organization
looks at the overall structure and team environment, and considers that
individuals have different goals, talents and potential.

Characteristics:
(a) Individual goals and organizational goals are aimed to be balanced.
(b) Partnership between managers and employees.
(c) Leaders are authentic with high social intelligence
(d) Employees experience a sense of psychological ownership.
(e) Trust index is high.
