ACCOMPLISHMENT/ NARRATIVE REPORT

Title of Activity : 3R’s: A HOME-VISIT TUTORIAL SYSTEM

Date Conducted : April 21, 2022

I. Introduction

Reading is a complex developmental challenge that we know to be

intertwined with many other developmental accomplishments: attention,
memory, language, and motivation, for example. Reading is not only a cognitive
psycholinguistic activity but also a social activity.

While most children learn to read well, there remain many young ones
whose futures are imperiled because they do not read well enough to meet the
demands of our competitive, technology-driven society.

This activity/project examines the root cause/s of reading problems and

introduces the concepts of 3R’s Learning in a clear and comprehensive manner
and language-based instructions.

II. Activities Conducted/ Implemented

As the Program Implementer, I had actively performed such activities
aligned to the accomplishment of the project. Here is the list:

III. Problem/s Encountered and Solution/s

The common problems encountered during the conduct of the activity

are the following: Letter Sound Recognition; Word Recognition; Specific Word
Reading Difficulties; Mixed Reading Difficulties; and Reading Comprehension
Difficulties.

Solution/s: Create a stress-free environment, decode or introduce

letter sound, have them read the same thing several times, drill sight words
and guide students to have steady pace.

On the other hand, parent involvement is very essential to the child’s

reading ability.

IV. Recommendations

As the program was successfully done, few of the points were

recommended, as such:

 Applying the 7 strategies in high and effective reading such as,

activating, inferring, monitoring-clarifying, questioning,
searching-selecting, summarizing, and visualizing-organizing

 Project words repeat & speak, allow think time, sort words,
follow along, teach phonics, cue the ABC’s, and inference.

 Use the 3-2-1 strategy to measure student engagement. After

students read a passage, have them write 3 things they
learned, 2 things that are interesting, and 1 question they may
have about what they read.
