NARRATIVE REPORT ON COMPUTER LITERACY: A TOOL FOR

EFFECTIVE TEACHING AND LEARNING FOR RBEMNHS TEACHERS

The use of computer is an approach to equip the teachers with the basic
skills in data encoding, manipulation and application of computer programs and
software in implementing computer-assisted instruction and in the computation of
grades across all subjects. It is very important that all teachers of Robert B. Estrella
Memorial National High School should use learning equipment and materials
which includes computer programs that are educational, interactive and
experiential.

The training was started with a prayer through multimedia presentation

followed by the singing of Pambansang Awit and opening remarks by Mr.
Ferdinand A. Namqui. After the opening remarks, the training was started by the
first speaker, Miss Rosalie N. Sante. She discussed the basic concepts in Microsoft
Office Word where different activities were performed. The teachers were taught
how to make calendars and calling cards. After taking the lunch, Mr. Ferdinand A.
Namqui discussed the basic concepts of Powerpoint Presentation. The Teachers
were taught on how to make presentations which is very important in teaching
because they can capture students’ attention and helps keep them interested. On
second day, Mr. Manny A. Costales were discussed the basic concepts of
Microsoft Office Excel. The teachers were taught how to use excel in computing
learners grades in the K to 12 and Revised Basic Education Curriculum. After the
discussion, Mr. Costales gave the teachers an activity on how to make grading
sheets using excel. On the last day, Mr. Ferdinand Namqui discussed the basic
concepts in Adobe Photoshop. The teachers were thought how to make
instructional materials using this very useful software. Different activities were
tackled like resizing, editing, picture manipulations and text effects. In the
afternoon, the teachers presented their outputs on the different activities. After the
presentation, Dr. Emelita N. Soriano awarded the certificates of participation to the
participants. We end up our training by a prayer through multimedia presentation
and very inspiring closing remarks by our very own Principal, Dr. Emelita N.
Soriano.

Overall, the training was fun and educating and the participants gained new
knowledge that they surely value.
