tools, equipment, instruments and utensils and reports accordingly

Teachers Demonstration 1. Measuring Devices
a. Weighing scales
Put the food on the plate of weighing
scale, record the reading in grams or
kilograms.
b. Measuring cup
dry ingredients- Gently spoon the
ingredients into the cup, filling the cup
into heaping, level off with a metal
spatula or straight edge knife.

surface, measure lines at eye level to
get the exact measurement.
2. Measuring Instruments
a. Refractometer
1. Place a drop of sap on the refractometer.
2. Close the cover.
3. Quickly read the scale (the line on the top
of the darker area). Readings should be
taken to the nearest 0.1 percent.
4. Dry with tissue paper and rinse with water
after each reading.
b. Salinometer
1. Prepare brine solution.
2. Pour brine solution in a cylinder.
3. Dip salinometer in brine solution.
4. Record the reading.
5. Clean after using.

H. Finding practical applications of APPLICATION: Measure me
concepts and skills in daily living The class will be divided into 4 groups. Then they will
(APPLICATION/PROJECT MAKING) assign a leader and secretary for presenting the output of
their group. Each group will measure an ingredient and
they should use the appropriate measuring device and
instrument. Everyone is encouraged to actively participate
and observe safety protocols while doing the activity.
