The Horni Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE-TIFR) is the nodal centre for Science and
Mathematical Olympiads in India for more than two decades. This programme is recognised and
fully funded by the Government of India through the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE),
Department of Science and Technology (DST), Department of Space (DoS) and the Ministry of
Human Resource Development (MHRD). We are entrusted with selecting and training the Indian
national teams for the highly prestigious International Olympiad competitions in six subjects.
Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM) is the first stage of the Olympiad programme for
2022-2023. This examination will be jointly conducted by HBCSE and the Mathematics Teachers'
Association (India) (MTA(I)). A professional agency has been given the responsibility to hold the
examinations on our behalf in multiple centres across the country on October 30, 2022.
We earnestly seek your cooperation in letting the agency use your institution for these examinations
on the above dates. A large number of local students in your area will be benefited by this. The
IOQM 2022-2023 is a crucial step leading to India's participation in the International Mathematical
Olympiad of 2023. Your help and cooperation in this regard, especially in these difficult times, will
be a vital contribution in this important national endeavour.
