Activity 3.
Reflection
1. How accurate were the children in predicting how well they would remember
the word list?
On the first child (5yo), she remembered most of the words I ask her to
remember. It was 8/10 (to be exact) words she remembered. She was
really focus by the time I asked her to listen and remember those
words. The child did well in recalling the words than listing down the
words. For the second child (13yo) she manages to remembered some
of the words by taking her time. She familiarized most of the words, it’s
just that she wasn’t able to chat down all the words she remembered.
2. How well did they remember the list?
They both manage to remember most of the words I asked them to
remember.
3. Were there any differences in age terms of how accurate their predictions or
their list were?
There were age differences in terms of listing don the words they
actually remember. The 5-year-old child find it a bit challenging to write
down the words she recalls. (she’s kindergarten student) While for the
13-year-old child, she was able to list down all the words she recalls. As
for reciting the list of words they remembered, both of them did a good
job.
4. How well the child does in retelling the story? Did they tell the story in the
order you read/ narrated it to them?
As for the first child(5yo) she retells the story the best way she can.
Although she was not able to narrate the story accordingly, she still
retells the important part of the story, but only those parts she
remembers. The 13-yr. old child manages to retell the story
accordingly. Both of them did a great job!
5. Were there age differences in the way they respond?
Yes! The 5-year old child took a little while in answering some of my
questions, she’s been careful about the answers she gave me. She
really thinks first before saying it and if she doesn’t know the answer to
my questions, she’ll take a pause and will look at me. Unlike the
second child, since the age gap is really high, she responded
immediately. She knows what to say, there were jumble words but still
the thought was in there.
6. Do the children see their teacher helpful in their learning?
Yes! There are many things that mostly are being taught in schools.
Each student learns in a unique and their own way, some learns easily
when lessons are being discussed by the teachers. Some wants to just
conduct activities and some learners involve the society in their

learning process. They just need to cultivate the knowledge they have
and link it to the new on, still it depends on the learner’s interest.
