4. Project Description
This project “Dedicated Improvement and Reflection
Time through Learners Self-Assessment Tool” is inspired
to the Curriculum Implementation Division program in
Mathematics entitled “Project Mathuto Ng Mathuto” – a
daily drill and practice in Mathematics lessons for early
numeracy.
The major goal of Mathematics instruction is to involve
students in the process of discovering mathematical ideas
and formulating processes which should lead to
developing students who are critical problem-solvers.
Self-assessment is a power learning strategy. It
provides students with an opportunity to self evaluate, or
make judgement about their learning process and
products of learning, based on criteria that they have
agreed on with their teacher. Students who can assess
their own learning are more effective learners.
This projects help students judge their own abilities
and performance, and become self-regulated learners.
The Learners Self-Assessment Tool will help the
students of San Vicente National High School capable of
self-reflection, process their own mistakes and make
resolutions for them to improve in their lessons in
Mathematics especially in the most challenging items like
problem solving.

Project Components Pre-Test: A pre-test shall be given Grade 7 to Grade 10


to evaluate their initial understanding of the content
knowledge in Problem Solving.
Rubrics: It a list of criteria for assessing the important
goal of the task and a scale for grading the different levels
of achievement in each of the criteria, with a description
for each qualitative level.
Post-test – at the end of the quarter, the learners will be
given a post-test to test the effectivity of the project.
