FT glass)

 Aspect ratio of glass = L/B = 3.85/1.22 = 3.15

 Glass area in Sq.M = LxB = 3.85x122= 4.7 sqM
 Wind Load considered = 1.09 Kpa
 From table,5-ASTM E1300, Load share factor LS1 = 3.37
( for outer lite glass-6mm thick)
 Load share factor for Inner lite glass ( 6mm Thick)LS2=1.42
 Load shared outer lite = Windload in Kpa/Load share factor = 1.09/3.37= 0.32KN
 Load shared by Inner lite = 1.09/1.42 =0.76 KN
2
 Load x Area for outer lite = 0.32Kpa x 4.72 = 7.06 KN-m2
 Load x Area 2 for Inner lite = 0.76x4.7 2 = 16.78
Load capacity of glass arrangement is found out according to ASTM E 1300-03
As per ASTM E1300-03, the glass arrangement is
 Insulating glass(IG) with one monolithic lite under short duration load.

Load resistance is = 4.55Kpa

Actual Wind load =1.09 Kpa < 4.55 Kpa, hence safe

Check for deflection for outer lite- 6mm Glass

Deflection corresponding to Load x Area2 -7.06 , from Fig- A-17, ASTM E-1300
Deflection for the outr lite glass = 8mm
Maximum allowable deflection( ref- AS 1288) = Length of shorter span/60 = 1221/60= 20 mm > actual
deflection. Hence safe

 Deflection corresponding to Load x Area2(16.78) and Aspect ratio 3.17 , from Fig- A-17, ASTM E-
1300 =9.5 mm
 Maximum allowable deflection( ref- AS 1288) = Length of shorter span/60 = 1221/60= 20.35 mm
Actual deflection < allowable deflection, hence Safe
